Some of the best gyro I’ve ever had

Ordered the combo plate at the Pride Festival DT. It was delicious and took a long time to finish. That was one heaping plate of food! A really good mix of fresh citrus flavored salad mixed with savory Middle Eastern gyro flavored meat and pickles on top of a hot mess of rice. Includes some pita bread and hummus to complement the dish. A little pricey at $20 but I imagine that's due to their event overhead. Would highly recommend.

Ordered the gyro and fries combo with a soda. Definitely overpriced for the quality. Received my food fast, but wasn’t able to pay cash. Had to pay with card because they “didn’t have change” so there was an additional fee that I couldn’t avoid (fee on literally any card purchase btw). Fries were good but not very many of them. Gyro was bland and watery. Might try something different next time if they come to my work again but all in all mediocre and overpriced.

Some of the worst, not cooked to order, bland food I’ve ever had. On top of the horrible food the service was rude! I will never be back here, unless I’m craving cold undercooked slop.

I LOVE Hefty Gyros! Literally didn’t know what it was or taste like until I had hefty! I rave about it lol if it’s not a hefty gyros I’d don’t want it‼️??

As others have stated - a bit overpriced, no price transparency, and ultimately, bland. I'd describe it as them going for a halal guys approach with more sauce and a 'hefty' name to help you think you're getting more. Pictures certainly make it seem so. That being said, the food was edible and ingredients' quality was fine. Tried this truck a couple times years apart. I see that there is a market for them but if you have any other reliable gyro options, there is no need to open the wallet here. Just totally unremarkable on my palate. I was surprised to see this as a top Yelp recommendation. I would not recommend Hefty Gyros to any person who needs to be mindful with their money, unless we suddenly lost all competitors and are tortured by a craving for gyro.

It’s hard for me to find food I can eat and actually enjoy at Aftershock. I hate meat in anything. Their falafel gyro was AMAZING. They will be the only food truck I eat at when I’m at future Aftershocks. Thank you so very much! And look into coming to Reno for food truck events! We don’t have a gyro food truck, and need yours!

OMG I love their GYRO PITAS !!!! These people know what it means to make tastey food. Its all good no matter what you get...gyro or chicken pita,falafel,hefty fries.I got the gyro pita and I was in gyro pita heaven.I may try those fries next time.Great food guys and girls of Hefty Gyros !!! I will definately come back.If you want to achieve Nirvana...this place is a step in the right direction.

At Natioal night out. I ordered the #1, Original Gyro. It was very good , and plentiful, fresh cucumber and some peppers lighten the Gyro . The pita was great. Soft ,not dry, and the texture was good. Overall good experience. The staff were super friendly too. And I wore my Food truck sock. GOOD LOOKING FOOD TRUCK. #justhavingfun

No prices on truck menu. Assumed since it was a truck that prices would be reasonable, Wrong!!! The food is mediocre but they charge you as if you were eating at a four star restaurant. Will not go back, much better food at local restaurants that are reasonably priced in Elk Grove.

We had Hefty Gyro cater our PHAdvocates employee reception and the food was INCREDIBLE!! Fresh, crunchy, crispy, and so delicious! Thank you, Jamal!!

We got the chicken gyro, a chicken plate, baklava, and plain fries. It was all so good. Flavorful comfort food.
