Hook & Ladder always delivers a great food experience! Where else can you get chicken liver mousse on pan-fried thick country bread, with cherry mostarda? The monthly featured shrubs are delightful and fresh. It’s very nice to be on the secret garden style back patio again in this weather.I love reading the whole menu to discover their creative cocktail names.

It was just an ok experience. Tupac drink was weird tasting, didn't really want to finish it, ordered $15 meatball appetizer that came with 3 not very big meatballs. Not worth it. Ordered burger because nothing else was really calling to me. It was fine nothing special. Server not very attentive. So basically average food for higher than average prices. Not inclined to go back.

H&L was a favorite pre Covid... we returned post Covid and the menu had changed quite a bit. There were a lot of "safe" foods and I understand it about survival. We returned with friends the other day and they are back! The menu was varied and deep.. one of got the rockfish special, we also had a pizza, short ribs and ox tail cavatappi. All the dishes were well prepared and presented nicely. We were very impressed and happy. The cocktails list reads like a conspiracy theorists wet dream... it was funny! I'm glad that H&L survived and are back on the ground running! Our waitress was very good and quick in her quips... No photos.... we are it too fats but check back since we WILL be back.

Love this place. Food is great, drinks are great. Service is always amazing. Favorite date night spot by far. Great experience and doesn’t break the bank in terms of nice restaurants. Parking isn’t always great but we figure it out.

A great place to eat a really nice meal. An expertly curated menu of food and drink showcasing seasonal and local ingredients, but without the pretentious trappings of other restaurants that do the same thing. Hook & Ladder is a great spot to get a thoughtfully-made meal in a place that doesn't make you feel like the chef is tolerating your presence in their restaurant. Cocktails are amazing, burgers even more so.

Had a reservation for 13 guests on a Sunday morning. Very cute entrance and interior. Brunch menu and drink options.Service was kind of spotty and slow. Food did take a long time to come out, but all our meals were really good. Enjoyed the Fried Chicken Sandwich with Fries + Chilaquiles with Red Sauce (kind of tasted like pasta/red pepper sauce).Would recommend for a semi-casual brunch.Vegetarian options: Avocado Toast, Eggs, French Toast, Salad

H&L is worth the visit! This place was amazing from the food to the service and the atmosphere. We cannot wait to come back and try the dinner menu. The avocado toast was the best I have ever had. Be sure to try the homemade ginger beer!

I want to start off saying our service was not bad or rude, only that we seemed a little forgotten on the back patio even though it seemed to be a slow day. Thankfully, we had roaring heaters, which did keep us toasty. The patio decor and plants also looked well taken care of, but the bathroom definitely needed to be checked on more often. The mens room was pretty grimey. The menu had some great potential but left us wanting on portion size, especially when it came to 8 dollars for three petite biscuits and butter to share. The cocktails were VERY good, but the potato pork belly bowl was very underwhelming with two under seasoned eggs, lots of interesting sauce and very small bits of pork strewn about and no salt or pepper on the table to adjust it to our taste. Our friend also commented that their dish sounded better than it tasted. All in all, we would probably come back for drinks and try different menu items for a second opinion.

Great spot in the downtown area. The wood fire pizza with hot salami or similar and chili oil was ridiculously good. Fried chicken sandwich was super crispy w the fixings and good crisped fries. The calamari appetizer was not what I expected and was more tossed into a farro style salad with greens on top. My blueberry sour cider was awesome too.

Came here to celebrate some December birthdays and also for a fun night out in town! The place itself has a woodsy, rustic feel. Very cozy! Plenty of seating for large parties too. It's just a great place to get together and have some drinks and eat!! Their menu wasn't my favorite.... But my friends really enjoyed it! I had ordered the margarita pizza and it was delicious. On the thin side. And my friends most of them ordered the brick chicken which was a huge hit for most of them! (No mashed potatoes though) and my other friend ordered the oxtail which is a ragu type of pasta and it was delicious!! If I know the meat was going to be all scrambled in the sauce like that I probably would have ordered that for sure. Their drink menu is super fun and delicious so I highly recommend!! Would recommend if you are in the area for sure.
