Three stars for the food quality. Unfortunately, both the waitress and the manager made mistakes with our order. They even charged us for an extra order of crab legs that we didn't order. Furthermore, because they missed one of our orders, some of our party had to wait for 40 minutes before getting their food. Another disappointment was that the spicy level we requested was very mild, despite asking for the highest level of spiciness. However, I understand that the restaurant is still new and may need some time to improve. I am willing to give it another chance once they have settled down.

Come into this place and enjoy the spot. New seafood spot travelling from the east coast to the west coast. First Hook and Reel of the west coast. As with all the Sea life out there, Hook and Reel cannot get by without a mention of their water. Classic tall plastic cups and clear ice and crystal water if that is not the perfect start then I don't know what is. Cool vibes and great decor.

My boyfriend and I have been waiting for this place to open since we heard wonderful things about it. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to dine in, but my boyfriend ordered our food to go--two pounds of shrimp, garlic noodles, and three servings of rice. However, they forgot our rice. After calling, Anthony was very friendly and said I can pick it up. The ambiance of the place was lovely, with numerous TVs and a nice bar. I was promptly assisted, with one person ensuring I wasn't overlooked. I feel they could have offered something complimentary for the inconvenience of forgetting our rice. Nevertheless, despite our food being a bit cold when I got home, we were still excited to try it. One, the rice were very small portions. Second, the shrimp lacked flavor, with a thin, watered-down sauce. The garlic noodles, however, were excellent. Disappointed by the shrimp, I ended up making my own sauce so I didn't waste it. Given that they've just opened, I'm willing to give this place another chance, hoping for a better outcome. I'm giving them two stars for the garlic noodles and the friendly staff.

We came here hoping to love this spot. Nice seafood boil ambiance, plenty of tvs to watch the game and really close to the house. I think our waitress was fairly new so our service was good enough. She was kind and really tried her best. But we waited a while to get anything. Water, utensils, order and refills. Got 2 lbs of crawfish house mix spiciest level. Skimp on the sauce and not barely spicy at all. My girl got the same thing and my friend got 2 lbs of shrimp. All the same situation. Edamame was the best thing i ate there. They said to ask for extra sauce to drench it but we didn't know that it was going to be that skimp. Nice people but other near by spots are better.

We stumbled upon this new restaurant...WOW wow WOW is this place great! Prices very reasonable for seafood (Management Please don't raise the prices on us when you're reading this review) Service is great, food was fast, and TASTY!!! Our waitress BRENDA was very friendly, and helped us select our meals, two other staff members dropped by our table to see how everything was. We are coming back for sure!!! We like the lively atmosphere! There are cocktails looked fantastic, work night - next time!!! Yummmmm

Native Virginian here, if you don't get a seafood boil right, I will know. This is a legit seafood boil joint when it comes to the food. For a west coast establishment, the food is 5/5 stars - it's hard to beat. Service is amazing and the bar area is great. I am legitimately impressed that an establishment like this now exists on the West Coast and is actually quite good! There are a few QOL things that have been missed, but that's not part of the overall experience. Paper towel racks for boil purchases (like the industrial kind you find in public bathrooms) - it's messy, and napkins don't cut it. Better hand wash in the bathroom, pumice soap ideally - boils use a lot of oils & fats and considering typical hand soap is oil & fat that's been watered down it doesn't work. Lemon wipes, or a slice of lemon in warm water for a good fingertip cleansing when the bill comes out! I'm overall impressed by the food and the establishment, just a little nuance to clean up and this will definitely become one of my favorite spots in all of Sacramento.

My family and I recently attended the soft opening at Hook and Reel restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was exceptional, and I highly recommend that you come and try all the delicious dishes they have to offer. The servers were incredibly attentive and provided excellent service throughout our meal. It's definitely a dining experience worth experiencing for yourself!

Always excited to get new spots and even more exciting when they are as cute as Hook & Reel . Went during opening week so we knew they would still be working out some things but the inside of the place is adorable and I really hope they succeed . The decor and tvs were great and it will be a great spot to go to during football season or even just for drinks. For the food we got shrimp with their special seasoning and rice. Flavor was good not as salty as other spots. I tried the mild but I should have gone spicy and it came out fairly quickly . We had a $10 off coupon and the waiter applied a 10% discount instead, before I swiped my card I told him it was wrong but he insisted 10% off was a better deal (it wasn't and I knew that but I didn't feel like arguing plus he was learning the system) I did show him after I got my receipt how the 10% was in fact not a better deal but I told him it was ok and we just kept it moving for the sake of time.

Food, Service, and Ambiance are top notch! They have large tv's for sports events, karaoke, and a full bar to get all your favorite drinks!

Tried this new place with my bf and it did not disappoint. We ordered fried calamari, oyster basket, shrimp po boy, clam chowder and strawberry Hennessy. The oysters were so good, you can actually taste the oyster instead of just the bread and the Henny drink was super good! I like the ambiance of the place since it's still new, it was nice and cozy.
