I visited House Kitchen & Bar last week for a work event, and the experience was impressive from start to finish. Organizing or attending corporate gatherings can often be hit-or-miss regarding hospitality, but the staff here was outstanding. They were professional, genuinely polite, and friendly, ensuring our group was well taken care of throughout the evening.
The highlight of the night, however, was the food. I ordered the short rib dinner, and it was nothing short of amazing. The execution of the dish was perfect—flavorful and tender enough that I genuinely wished I could have ordered seconds or even thirds.
If you are looking for a venue that combines high-quality cuisine with attentive, A+ service, I highly recommend dining at this establishment. It is a fantastic choice for both business functions and personal dining in Sacramento.

French dip, burger and salmon.... All three were delicious! Fries are yummy too. Drinks were awesome and service was excellent. Love eating here before a Kings game.
Hyperbole tends to annoy me. Best season in the history of baseball when Othani went 50/50? Nah. Not even close. Recency bias much? So when I say “Best French Dip in Sac,” I was inherently skeptical. And boy was I right. This wasn't the best French dip in Sac. Far from it. It was the best French dip in the galaxy. By a huge margin. I travel the country, so I've sampled French dips in NY, Colorado, Georgia, Chicago, LA, the pacific north west, you name it. Bar none, this beats them all. Exceptional is an understatement. Kudos the team he chef (who delivers food himself).
We decided to go here before a Kings game because it was conveniently located to both parking and Golden One Center. Perfect selection. Food was ideal for pre-game, lots of small sharable dishes as well as sandwiches and salad perfect for sharing as we saw lots of tables doing so. Entres available if your appetite is more robust and great selection of beers and wine. The crafted cocktails are as yummy as they are gorgeous. A great place for pre-game eats!!
Food was pretty good. Service was great. Atmosphere was nothing special however it was comfortable.

The service was great, food amazing, and the value was on point; we will definitely be back soon.
I highly recommend their French dip. Everything I have ordered from here has been good. They have a full bar with knowledgeable bartenders.

I LOVE House Kitchen & Bar and used to go there several times a week when I worked downtown. Last night we were in the downtown area and decided to have dinner there. It was a good as ever and the service was EXCELLENT! The waitress was amazing! I had the Drunken Chicken Salad and my husband had the Steak Salad and said it was a 10 out of 10!! And when it came time to leave and pay for our parking, the security guard went above and beyond to help us with the parking app. Whenever we are in the downtown area, we WILL be eating at House! I highly recommend it!!!

We were there on a Friday night when the Kings were NOT playing. The place was practically deserted, which was a shame, as it was a very nice venue. The server said that this can be typical. I had the meatloaf, which was a little dry for my taste, but the overall meal was good. Serving size was generous. My S.O. had the short ribs and she thought they were excellent. We were in Sacramento for a Saturday conference and staying in the nearby Kimpton hotel. If we stay there in the future, this place would be a place we would return to.
Location is very convenient if attending a Kings Game. We had wine and champagne, which came fairly quickly. I started with a a dinner salad which really wasn't very good. I was hungry so I ate it, but the dressing was minimal and what was on there was not very tasty. The dressing did not enhance the flavors. I then had the eggplant and wife had the salmon. Salmon was good and over a salad. My eggplant tasted good, crunchy, but there wasn't enough sauce. Both sauces, red and pesto were great, but just not enough. I had the cookie with icecream for dessert and we loved that. Overall, I think they could improve a few things.
Always great food! Best place for warm up to a Kings game.
