Best happy hour deal in Sac! Yummy rolls for $8-$10 every day from 2:30pm-7pm. The service is very fast and the staff are all very nice. I love the origami art inside as well!

I've been looking for a good sushi restaurant since I moved here 4 years ago and last week I finally tried Jensai. The prices are so reasonable! The service is so nice and SO FAST! And of course the food was excellent. So fast though I wanna say my boyfriend and I went at 7 for dinner on a Friday - we were seated immediately and were in and out by 745. They rock new favorite sushi place that isn't ridiculously priced like Mikunis or Ju Hach. The only thing that sucks was the parking !

Fantastic food. Pokie bowl is amazing. Sushi is very good as well. Neighborhood is the only downside. Parking is limited.

Since moving to midtown, this has become the go to sushi spot for our family. It's close to our Southside park neighborhood and has always had parking though there seems to be a very few spaces. The ambiance is comfortable and has a nice vibe with efficient and personable staff. Prices and portions are on par with similar eateries and freshness is always on point. There are some fun house specialty rolls and a variety of things for a non-seafood, non-raw food fan (i know! I can't relate either, but we're working on her!). Even their takeout is done with the same care and attention to detail as the eat in fare. There is no reason not to try this gem out if you like sushi.

Looking for new sushi restaurants around town and found this one. Was a little nervous due to the location but the food and staff were amazing. It was very nice inside and we were seated immediately. Evan was so nice and took the time to talk to us and go over the menu. The golden gate roll was our favorite. Can't wait to go back!

I have been coming here every few months for years. The food is consistently delicious, the drink selection is excellent, the happy hour is killer, the staff are very friendly, and the service is usually very fast. Parking can be a tad annoying because of the shape of the lot but there's usually also street parking. The interior is lovely, with lots of live plants, and the music isn't too loud which can be an issue for me. I love this place!

Downtown's Japanese culinary haven exceeded all expectations, leaving us with a heartwarming sense of being part of a food-loving family. From the moment we entered, the attentive staff enveloped us in genuine warmth, making each interaction feel like a reunion with old friends. The service was nothing short of phenomenal – every detail executed with care and enthusiasm. The culinary journey unfolded with impeccably fresh sashimi, a testament to the chef's commitment to quality. Each delicate slice melted in our mouths, showcasing a mastery of flavor. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was an absolute delight, an explosion of heavenly tastes that lingered on our palates, urging us to savor every bite. This Japanese gem not only offers excellent food but also creates an atmosphere where passion for culinary artistry and genuine hospitality collide. A must-visit for those seeking an unforgettable dining experience where every dish feels like a symphony of flavors and every guest is embraced like family.Vegetarian options: Stuffed Mushrooms were too die for!!

This used to be Kru Contemporary Japanese Cuisine. I haven't been on this block for a long time. I used to be in this neighborhood everyday. I know some girls that said this was the best spot for sushi in town. If somebody from San Francisco was in town, I would take them here. I never been here, this is my first time. I only knew a few people that were allergic to shellfish. I never knew I was going to meet another girl that is allergic to shellfish. As much as I like calamari, lobster, and oyster shots with uni. I'm going to abstain from all that today. Going on a sushi date with a girl can be tough. I feel like I should be carrying an EPIPEN everywhere I go. I don't want anything fried today, even though tempura is tempting. I don't care what anybody says, I like my fish raw. I went with the PepperFin and Spicy Nemo Roll. Then I went to do laundry, go to Best Buy to get a charger for my new activated $599.99 phone with new number from Xfinity, and go to the gym after.

The WORST raw sushi that I've tasted. The texture is like when you get some nice fish and freeze it and then thaw it for too long. They have other nice things but it just cut through the experience. I usually LOVE sushi. :

Evan provided great service. Very knowledgeable about the menu, and had a great bright attitude. The food was good, but his service is the reason we'll be back. Great happy hour options too!

We came here on a Monday night to celebrate a friend's birthday, to be honest when we pulled up it's was a bit sketch. The street had a bunch of randos walking around. Women experienced homelessness sat right outside talking out loud. We could see no one was there yet and really wondered how dinner was going to go. Well come to find out, it was delicious!!! We ordered some great tasting rolls and the fish and chips along with the golden gate was prob the best sushi I have had so far in sac. Trust me, the fish was crispy and the fries was so tasty and flavorful. The sauce they provided with it. amazing!! Come try this place out. Service was kind and fast!!! I would come again for sure!!

Everything was so so good. I loved eating here and the staff was so nice. We got seated right away and ordered two of their specials with some hot green tea. Then we got jalapeño poppers which were the best I've ever had. I highly recommend this place to everyone and I can't wait be back
