We came here on a whim since we were driving into the area. I'm so glad that we chose this mom&pop location opposed to the other korean restaurants nearby. The parking situation is a bit awkward, it isn't located in the best area but it's fine as long as you find a spot right in front of the building. Upon arriving, there were only two other parties which indicated that they weren't really busy. We sat down with big appetites, so we were ready to try out different dishes. It seemed like there was just a wife and husband behind the counter and kitchen. It was a very friendly atmosphere and it was almost like being at home.Everything that we ordered was absolutely delicious and filled us up. Next time, I would order the gochujang sauce on the side since it made the wings a bit soggy after a few minutes. There were so many sides that it filled up the entire table. I love how there was unique banchan that I never had before which made the meal taste even better. I would definitely recommend this place!

Update: This used to be our favorite Korean spot. They are under new management and unfortunately it's a big step down from before. The bonchon is smaller, food is a lot more bland, and restrooms are not clean. Hopefully with time new management will figure it out.

As I was writing this review I was informed that this place is now permanently closed as of 6/20/23 due to the owner retiring. I am truly sad that this location is permanently closed. I absolutely loved their spicy raw marinated crab, Beef Bulgogi, and Jajangmyeon!!

I would absolutely NOT recommend this restaurant as a vegetarian, as the menu is extremely limited for veggie options (tofu soon dubu and tofu dolsot bibimbap is all I saw). However the ban chan was all very good, and the meat eater I dined with liked her food which is why I'm giving this place 3 stars. I was craving Jajangmyeon today which is an extremely difficult dish to get as a vegetarian. It usually has some kind of meat in it, sometimes even seafood. I gave this restaurant a call, and asked in Korean if they could make it without meat and they assured me that they could. After driving half an hour to get here, I asked again if they could make it vegetarian and the very kind waitress assured me that they could. We even skipped ordering the kimchi pancake because it contained seafood we couldn't take out. I heard her yelling at the cooks in the back double checking to ensure my dish would be without meat so I felt confident that they could make this happen. My friend also ordered Jajangmyeon- but hers with meat. My dish came out first. It looked and smelled amazing. I heard my waitress confirm with the kitchen staff yet again that it had no meat. However, I noticed that there was beef in it. I had my friend try it and she agreed that it was beef. When her dish came out 5 mins later, her dish was exactly the same. I spent about 10 minutes trying to pick out the beef at this point because I was just tired, hungry, and was frustrated with the situation. When I asked my waitress if they could make it again with no meat she was extremely apologetic - checked with the kitchen staff and stated it wasn't possible. She did offer me some rice instead that I declined. I just sighed and gave my friend the double portion. I was charged for both dishes and ended up having to make dinner at home. Because the waitress was so kind to me, I (perhaps stupidly) decided the charge wasn't worth an additional confrontation. Korean food is hard to find without some sort of meat in most dishes, so it's not surprising that this happened. That being said, I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone who has any dietary restrictions whatsoever, but if you're a meat eater it's probably pretty good.

I just found the most authentic Korean food in the Sacramento area. Better than any other places and service was excellent! Definitely 5 star place. ?

This place was definitely difficult to find, even with navigation. There is minimal decoration and ambience, but that's also how you know the food should be good. No music, a TV playing in the background without sound, the place is pretty quiet. When we got there, the place was dead. Wasn't hard to believe considering how tucked away the place was.The menu is very extensive and probably should be glanced at ahead of time. There was a lot we wanted to try, but we started with the beef bibimbab, which was actually probably one of the better ones we have had in Sacramento. Then we got the bulgogi which was cooked perfectly and is now a favorite. The soybean stew was actually surprisingly really good. My wife wasn't sure if I would like it, but it tasted like a light mushroom soup with miso. The last item we got was the spicy squid. It was the most expensive dish, but probably my least favorite. However, I think I just don't like squid when it's by itself. It was pretty spicy, but still edible. Would not recommend unless you love squid and spicy food. We did manage to eat most of it, but that was because we didn't want to waste it. Another thing to note is the MASSIVE amount of side dishes that come with the meals. Half of them were a type of kimchi, but this was the most side dishes I have ever seen from a Korean spot. But they definitely do help. A lot of the pickled stuff help with refreshing your taste from the spicy food. Almost like a reset button.Overall a great place for a decent meal. Will need to come back with more people to try more things.

Second time coming and still so pleased with the food, side dishes, and service! Still a quiet restaurant tucked in the corner of a plaza but it's such a hidden gem! The soondubu here is flavorful and rich with ingredients and the galbi is tender and delicious! Don't forget about the large display of side dishes they serve on the side :)

It's located in the most inconspicuous place in Sacramento. It's so hidden, you wouldn't think there's this awesome Korean restaurant in this plaza. The seating is well spaced. It looks like a mom and pop Korean restaurant from the inside. We got Soft Tofu Stew w/ Beef ( the most savory soft tofu stew I've ever had. It's so good I've finished the soup to it's last drop) and Panfried Mackerel (perfectly seasoned and panfried, very juicy and flakey) and it came with 13 banchan!!!! (All perfectly seasoned, taste sooo good and very fresh). The staff are very attentive and friendly. The food came out fast. We are coming back to try the deep fried chicken!

The place lives up to it's name. Has 13 sides that come with meal and are quite good (if kimchi, daikon, and other pickled veggies are appealing). The atka fish was delicious.

Loved all the side dishes (banchan) that they give! There were 13 total. Galbi - this was pretty good and flavorful. Would order again. It also tasted good the next day as leftovers. Beef bone soup - I wanted soup but I wanted to try something different other than the kimchi tofu soup that we usually order at other Korean restaurants. The beef bone soup was really plain and bland. They did bring us salt & pepper to use which made it so much better. However, next time I'll just stick to it my usual kimchi soup or try the one with the Mandu which my cousin said was good. :) Spicy cold noodles - I didn't like this. The sauce that was on it was too overpowering and strong. It was the only thing that we could taste. I really like the cold noodles at Gangnam way better.I would give them another try since I saw they had bossam. I'm always looking for a place with good bossam.

By far the best Korean food in Sacramento. When you walk in and there is a cart full of Kimchis, you know it's going to be excellent ? and it is! My wife is half Korean and she is happy after eating here. She said, just like Mom's food.

The look of the place is unassuming, But with. 4.9 Google reviews, I must try it. Having lived in Korea for a good number of years, this place is really legit. I mean just with the banchan alone you'll really get full with 12 of them. Taste is on point! This is place is famous for their soups, as the name says Tang which mean soup in Korean. So I ordered the gal bi tang-beef short ribs, perfect for the California winter weather. The receptionist is really nice and accommodating, made sure we have everything that we needed and even offered another bowl of rice, which we didn't take as we are so full with what we ordered. Give this a try, highly recommended.

Passed by Jeon Ju Gom Tang & BBQ a couple of times and one night finally decided to try it after craving Korean food! Right when we entered we were greeted by the waitress. We were asked to wait a little and she let us look at the menu at one of the open tables. I think because there's only one server, they only serve at certain tables. We didn't mind because it allowed us to look at the menu and order as soon as we sat at our table. We ordered the D2. Gogie Sundubu with beef, S1-1. Sogogi Dolsot Bibimbab, and H6. Kimchi Pajun. They also give a great amount of bonchon! The service and food was great! My only complaint would be the sundubu. I realized after getting the food I didn't tell the waitress if I could get mild for the spice level. It was spicy, especially toward the end! It was only spice and didn't have any other flavors. It was pretty watered down and the beef seemed a little old. The tofu and mushrooms were great thou! Overall, I would come again. I would love to try other dishes.
