Great atmosphere, very chill and laid back. Delicious food, an elevated take on Hawaiian casual food. Solid drink selection. What more could you want?

I had a really bad experience at this place. After I went in I had to wait around 10 minutes to finally be acknowledged by somebody… every single employee saw me and walked past me, not a hello, not a welcome, not a we’ll be right with you. Place is small and they weren’t busy, I counted at least 6 empty tables. Place has around 12 tables and a counter. The man I talked to refused to seat me. His explanation was that it was nice outside and that probably bigger groups would come in and wanted to have 6 tables available just in case. His solution was “come back later”… horrible customer service.

This place goes Kau-rayyyzyyy! Warm and comforting ambience, fantastic service, exceptional dishes and an awesome host running the floor…emitting an overall welcoming, fun and chill vibe. Possibly the best version of Eggs Benedict I have EVER had and don’t even get me started on the Chicken Long Rice-this dish for me felt made with love and soul! 20/10 thank you all for the amazing brunch and overall experience! ✨?

This place is formerly Evans. The Kau Kau egg benediction was good. The Mac waffle with katsu chicken and the spicy mango syrup was also good.

Great atmosphere and inviting staff. Island experience in Midtown. This place is tucked away but worth the patience to find it.Chicken Katsu and Waffles is a uniquely Hawaiian take on this southern brunch staple.Loco Moco was spectacularSpam Masubi tasted perfect but was a little hard to handle because the seaweed wrap was stronger than the rice was sticky.Dessert ... Butter Mochi was perfect for my wife, but I will oder from the pastry options next time.

Went w/ SO for brunch. I had the tofu Poke bowl, SO had the LocoMoco, we shared a tartlet. The food was some of the best I have had. So very nice to have a delicious veggie meal rather than a few sides shoved together. The decor was spot on - festive and welcoming (no stuffed parrots). The owner was the best part. Super chill, friendly guy with expert suggestions. I felt totally at home. One of the best restaurants in Sac! Can not recommend highly enough!!!

Came here for the first time at the beginning of the month. I had the Kau Kau Benedict which was pretty solid 4-4.5/5They brew their own coffee which was good but I'm not a big coffee drinker so not much more I can say on that.Small place so on weekends it can get busy real fast so best to go close to opening.Service was great. No complaints and came by to refill coffee multiple times.Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.
