From the outside it looks really dark but once you step in its lively. Our server was nice and welcoming. We ordered the 3 Hand Rolls option, a Salmon Teriyaki Bento and a Salmon Skin Hand Roll because i was curious. Sapporo on Tap is a must order. All the food was really tasty. There were a few items I had my eyes on so I will be back lol.

Small hole in the wall hand roll place with so much more. Their specials are always creative and delicious! Sometimes a little crazy - if you’re lucky 😉

I think these hand rolls are delicious, but I don’t love the vibes inside.

It’s a very small place but it feels very industrial rather than cozy. Kind of awkwardly quiet.

But the fish is delicious and high quality, and the flavor combos are very thoughtful!

I recommend just getting your hand rolls to go!

Very cool spot and area. The hand rolls were amazing and definitely will hot the spot if you are craving hand rolls. Got the spicy tuna, blue fin, crab, and salad. All were amazing and on point 10/10. The service was amazing and inside was immaculate and clean. Definitely recommended for anyone craving a hand roll, plenty of options.

Great karaage. I didn't know the gyoza would be deep fried, but the filling was tasty. Friendly staff. The patio looks so cool. Nice weather on a Friday night, so I asked to sit outside. Since it wasn't open, and staff dragged their feet saying it's not open now but they could open it if we really wanted to, I politely backed down. Same exact scenario with another customer 20 minutes later. I wonder how many times a night that happens. I ordered a yuzu lager (12 oz. Hitachino) and was served a yuzu white ale (16 oz. Onibi). The can arrived already open. I'm sure they want customers to correct them, but I prefer not to be wasteful even if they get the order wrong. Finally, from sitting at the bar I saw one chef rest his kitchen towel on the prep surface, moving it and wiping down. This wet towel with fish and seafood touched my partner's raw radish garnish. I made sure we didn't eat that (normally would) for fear of cross contamination. Hand rolls were okay. One seaweed was properly grilled and easy to bite through, but the other remained raw and rubbery. Scallops had an extra fishy flavor. Unagi was good. I did like the overall ambience.

I've been to most sushi spots in Sacramento, and Kinjo's is, without a doubt, the best one. Kru doesn't even come close to the freshness and quality that you'll get here. It's a cozy little spot with great atmosphere and incredible service. I go here at least once or twice a week.

And if you're a fan of oysters, you're not going to find any better ones anywhere else. They're absolutely perfect and delicious.

Hands-down one of my favorite places. I love the people who work there and the food is always perfect. I used to be someone who could never decide on a place to go eat, but now the decision is always easy to make. Kinjo!!

Wonderful hand roll bar! One of the best sushi places in town! We enjoyed our food every time we ate there. Their drinks, specially their oyster shooter are also great! The fish is always fresh and the seaweeds are crispy enough! It is a wonderful experience so definitely try it!

Very nice place. It is small so it's not good for a large party. We sat at the bar and watched them make the rolls. The concept is like Sugarfish. You can order all at once or add to your order. They will serve you your had one one at a time so that the seaweed stays fresh. The chef was nice enough to cut the hand roll in half because we ordered a bunch of different ones to share. We didn't try any of the hot dishes but saw someone eat the pork belly fries and it looked good.

We shared the 3 rolls (spicy tuna, yellowtail, and salmon) and tried most of the specials but our favorites were the zig zag hand roll, salmon skin, and taco trio. The ones with jalapeños are spicy so if you dont like spice don't get it. I personally like the albacore and the spice level. Everything was fresh and sushi chef was very attentive to us though I can see it getting really busy. They did use some sauces on some of the rolls so it would get soggy on some parts. But again it's freshly made so not a huge problem. Another difference compared to Sugarfish is the seaweed isn't as crunchy. So when you take a bite, you do have to cut with your teeth. So that was nice of the chef to cut it in half for us; otherwise I can see it being messy. They are not big hand rolls so I would say about 5 to 6 rolls each and a hot plate to share would be good. Each roll is about 7 to 10 dollars so this place isnt cheap. But I would definitely be back.

Atmosphere was great, service was great and fast. The prices were good on the alcohol and appetizers.
In regard to food, it was not good at all. The seaweed was cold and soggy, the rice was long-grain rice that wasn’t sushi grade and was really cold, the fish wasn’t very good, and the flavors were all over the place and just not good. Truthfully, I would never go back and spend 45 dollars again for 5 subpar handrolls.

This is by far my favorite sushi-esque experience I've had. I came in for my birthday with my wife and I can't believe the excellence of service, execution, and passion that exists in this place. We had delicacy after delicacy and each was impeccable. Jay, Ericka, and rhe rest of the staff were so welcoming and accommadting I'm so excited to come here again! Thank you for everything Kinjo!!

Ok, so first, I should start by saying my teen found this place on TikTok, and it looked like fun and bright room, speedy service, nice employees. I'll save you from guessing. It was the employees. Very sweet. Big smiles on their faces. Cutie pies, all of them. Everything else they were not. That TikTok ad lied! It is dark and cramped, and it is definitely not a place for loud sloppy PDA! There ain't no room for you to be elbowing someone while you smack lips with your lover. I mean, sure, your love is beautiful, and anyone would want to be looked at like that, I am not trying to take that away from you, but there are clearly children around! Like you'll KNOW we ALL hear that! We are practically sharing barstools. It's that cramped. Have some decency. I mean one! Maybe, but ya'll kissed like 9x, and you just walked in like 30mins ago...
