Food was very fresh and flavorful. I was blown away of how delicious everything was! Definitely my new favorite when I come into town. Well worth it
Atmosphere was great, service was great and fast. The prices were good on the alcohol and appetizers.
In regard to food, it was not good at all. The seaweed was cold and soggy, the rice was long-grain rice that wasn’t sushi grade and was really cold, the fish wasn’t very good, and the flavors were all over the place and just not good. Truthfully, I would never go back and spend 45 dollars again for 5 subpar handrolls.
Absolutely incredible food.
This is by far my favorite sushi-esque experience I've had. I came in for my birthday with my wife and I can't believe the excellence of service, execution, and passion that exists in this place. We had delicacy after delicacy and each was impeccable. Jay, Ericka, and rhe rest of the staff were so welcoming and accommadting I'm so excited to come here again! Thank you for everything Kinjo!!
Ok, so first, I should start by saying my teen found this place on TikTok, and it looked like fun and bright room, speedy service, nice employees. I'll save you from guessing. It was the employees. Very sweet. Big smiles on their faces. Cutie pies, all of them. Everything else they were not. That TikTok ad lied! It is dark and cramped, and it is definitely not a place for loud sloppy PDA! There ain't no room for you to be elbowing someone while you smack lips with your lover. I mean, sure, your love is beautiful, and anyone would want to be looked at like that, I am not trying to take that away from you, but there are clearly children around! Like you'll KNOW we ALL hear that! We are practically sharing barstools. It's that cramped. Have some decency. I mean one! Maybe, but ya'll kissed like 9x, and you just walked in like 30mins ago...
I LOVE everything about this place.
Kinjo in the neighborhood or neighborhood in Kinjo? No matter the answer, we love and recommend this spot. Our favorites are Takoyaki and seasonal specials.
A great hidden spot in Sacramento! This place stands out for their great hand rolls which are all well crafted so the fish and seafood shine through while complimented by the other components of the roll. I loved trying the different specialty and regular rolls they were all so good. You can taste how high quality every ingredient is. Service is great and they answer any question you may have about the menu. I would definitely come back!
Super fresh and delicious food! They have a regular menu and a seasonal menu. The staff is very friendly and have a lot of experience. Definitely recommend the tamago yaki unagi hand roll and definitely recommend sitting at the bar to watch the chefs work! One chef also recommended either coming in early or late to avoid the crowd. We came around 5:30 and there was one other patron
Food was good, service was a bit slow but there is a big downside: this place was extremely loud. My ears physically hurt for just being there for 5 minutes even after putting on noise cancellation AirPods. I think it’s a combination of the people who were there shouting across the table with no consideration for other customers and the acoustics of the place that just seems to magnify sound.

Very very cool. And very very tasty.
I live only a few blocks away and it’s my partner’s favorite. The last time I went, the service was atrocious, and I say that as someone who consistently tips over 20-25% and am fairly easy to please. I’ve only tipped below 15% once in the past 2yr, but the service was so far below satisfactory I’ve broken the streak.
Our appetizer was forgotten, they took a long time to take our order, they forgot wasabi/ginger, and my water was never refilled. During a busy hour this is plenty excusable, but we were one of three parties in the whole restaurant.
The prices have slowly crept up over the past couple of years, which is to be expected. But at the price point they offer, the atmosphere and service no longer justify the price. With tax and tip, a date night with an appetizer and a drink will run you $100. Plenty of “nicer” restaurants will cost the same.
Unfortunately, with the service I got last time, Kinjo may drop out of the regular date night discussions.
I’m open to revisiting this post after a positive visit, but for now I’m disappointed to say I’ll be looking for other hand roll restaurants around midtown.
Great food and fun experience. Their yellowtail roll stole my husband’s heart. I definitely recommend

Fish tastes super fresh and is very well prepared. Makes you wish you could sit and order everything off the menu. Friendly staff. Not a ton of seating but several spots at the counter.
