Found my second favorite Japanese Bistro, the menu is everything you can think of, the rolls are exquisite must try. Must check out for yourself. Highly recommend. I will be back there again and again and again.

Delicious food, friendly service, and they always give my son fish food to go feed the koi after he eats!
Kid-friendliness: There's a kid friendly attraction: a koi pond inside the restaurant. The waitress always gives him fish food when he's done eating!

Didn’t expect they have a pond with lotz of koi fish at the door, spacious restaurant and good food and service. Also some vegetarian choices too! Plenty of parking on their lot during dinner.

I went here today when it first opened up, I was the only customer at the time. The lady who served me was very pleasant. I've been craving some good grilled oysters but haven't come across any good places in Sacramento. Let's just say I found my oyster spot. 10/10 highly recommend.

I didn't realize this was the old Capitol Aquarium building when I decided to go here. It was nice too see the koi pond as I walked in. Nice place, good food, friendly waitress, quick service, reasonable prices, and sentimental location. I would highly recommend this place if you want sushi and you loved Capitol Aquarium.

It was my first time coming to Koi Japanese Bistro. I really enjoyed the miso soup and salad. It was very refreshing and opened up my pallet. I was surprised that I like the salad since it had beets on it. I really enjoyed it to the point and I wanted to order some more. I didn't care for the vegetable tempura and the roll I picked. That's why I gave the food a 3. The roll didn't have much flavor. and I didn't like the vegetables they chose for tempura.

Amazing happy hour deals. Non happy hour, the food is good and still reasonably priced. The ambiance is a little bit lacking but it makes up for it in the affordability. If the ambiance was more elevated then I would expect the prices the prices to be 2 $2 to $4 would more per dish. So I'm just fine with it.

We went here for happy hour (3:30pm-6:30pm) to check out the specials, came in on a Tuesday around 6pm, we were the first ones here. I really liked Pumbaa Roll, the sauces were good, probably the best thing I ate here. I didn’t care for the flavors in the Salmon Roll, tasted a bit bland to me. We tried the Glazed Japanese Sweet Potato, it had a nice buttery flavor, but also bland. We also tried the Ajitama Scoth Egg, this one was unique, I haven’t tried anywhere else, although a great idea with the layer of ground beef, the flavors weren’t quite hitting the pallet. The Petite Pepperfin had a sauce that was also extremely bland, but the deep fried jalapeños saved the day. We got sake bombs for $5 each!
I’d say their happy hour is a great value, but they need to work on the combination of flavors a bit more.

Some of the best sushi I've had in Sacramento! Huge pieces of fish that are so fresh and delicious. Try the spicy edamame - it will not disappoint. Juju and the staff are so friendly and lovely. Can't wait to come back <3
