The food here is amazing and the bread is some of the best bread. But the menu above the counter is the absolute worst. There's about four pages of information that they're trying to have on two tv screens and the screens change before you have time to read everything. So then by the time it gets back to the screen that you're trying to read, you forget where you were. And then you're just looking at it all.Like trying to take it all in. And it's just too much. They really need to just either print it all out. And like, give you a menu, or do a QR code or get four tvs that don't shuffle. There's dishes I want to try but I can't ever find them so I just end up ordering the same thing.

Waited 20 minutes for my order which was supposedly being finished while other people were getting their orders. Had to go up to the counter to actually get my order. They don’t pay attention to their customers and would rather talk to themselves and their coworkers, instead of helping their customers

What kind of breakfast place runs out of bagels before 10:30? What a joke.

Definitely not as busy as when I moved away in 1989, and the pastries weren't *quite* as good as I remember. But everyone has good days and bad days and maybe this was one of them. Service was attentive and friendly - that much has *not* changed.

This LA Bou is a franchise so I don't think the quality is the same as a non franchised Labou, and there baked goods are still good but they don't have alot and if you come after 10:00 am they usually don't have anything
Friendly staff that explain the menu. Farmhouse panini was soggy. Not a satisfying meal

Used to be my favorite croissant in Sacramento. But this location has changed the recipe and also has the most horrendous dining experience. Bad lighting, messy hand written signage everywhere, messy layout, outdated interior, outdated music, no acoustic control (constant loud echoes and noise), they're located right off the bike trail but have no bike parking or outdoor seating. I want to support the business but the experience is truly unpleasant and sours the meal. And now the croissant has very little butter which results in a dense bread roll texture with no layers.

Ordered a tuna sandwich online for pickup, and it was finished fast. I’d never been there. When I arrived, the place had a pungent smell, very off putting. Got back to the office, bit into the sandwich and the tuna was VERY fishy, bread was chewy and had a stale taste to it and mayo had a bad aftertaste. I dumped it. Never again! Gross
Croissants are good, except they always seem to be out of the Almond ones. The apple cake isn't very good. Dry and no apples.

Service was terrible and the service is only terrible because I asked for one simple swap and the lady told me oh I only do it this time because it's slow

The nice lady who works the register at the front just took a massive order for my whole office like it was nothing. 12 orders back to back with no interruptions or mistakes . She took that order in 2 minutes flat, crazy efficient. She was very nice and made a really large order feel really easy.

I’d love to support a union-run cafe ?? but the way they manage their menu is frustrating. I regularly try to order 3-4 raspberry scones around 8-8:30am and they’re always nearly out/need to substitute something else. Understandable, so will they make more? No, they only make “one small batch early in the morning” each day. Why would you do this if you know they’re that popular? What kind of place doesn’t make a menu item more than once per day? This isn’t Starbucks, where they get many items delivered and if they run out, that’s it. This is a location actively choosing to not respond to customer interest and it’s profoundly irritating. Not sure if I’ll be back.

Really hit and miss. We used to love LaBou and ate there regularly. Since we were in the area, we decided to pick up lunch to go. Besides taking forever, when the food was finally bagged up, the staff member walked right past us (standing near the counter) and walked up to everyone sitting at tables to see if this was their order. He seemed lost until my wife asked if that was the chicken Ceasar salad. Then he finally noticed us. We knew to ask if there was bread with the order. (Last time they'd forgotten it). Only when we got home did we realize they'd forgotten the dressing. We were 15 minutes away from La Bou, so I ended up driving to the grocery store for dressing. When I called La Bou, I found out there wasn't a manager on duty that day. I'd have to call back the following day. (I forgot.) Lunch should not have to be this hard.we

I really like this La Bou. I like the food, I like the eastern European guy running the show. However, a very disturbing incident today.
I ordered my tuna croissant m the way I always do, as it turns out, that is without tomatoes (because everyone now sells store tomatoes, and they suck). I repeated my order, twice, for a total of three times, and it was read back to me twice. It was not read back to me by the waitress., Rather, the nice girls at the register. No… The waitress popped up later. She brought me my sandwich and I noticed a marked surfeit of tomatoes.
I: I specifically said no tomatoes.
Indo Chinese waitress: You say etra tohmayo
I: Do not argue with me about this and rectify this issue.
The Indo Chinese waitress was nowhere near me when I ordered, she had no idea what I "say" and simply wished to dispute me.
In any event, please note, I said it three times,, it was repeated twice, and I'm sure any objective observer would rate my facility with North American standard English as far greater than her's.
Sergei, you should fire this woman. You should also be aware that the Koreans, who opened the place about three blocks to the north have got good food and friendly Koreans. When did you ever see friendly Koreans? Especially when compared to Southeast Asians. You gotta get rid of your lady. I wouldn't hire a Korean yet, but this Indo Chinese lady's a disaster.
