Nasty rude man told me my food was bad because 2 employees called out didn’t offer to remake it or anything very disappointing spent 12$ to throw the food away in front of the tall white man who was working with an attitude !!!! Just sad waste of money

Too expensive for Mediocre food, Don't order from door dash or online/over the phone if you want salsa or any sides they don't care about customers you'll have to go inside to get sales or extras no customer service.

Driving back to the Bay Area famished, after a full day of groomer-warriors antics in Tahoe, my friends and I decided to stop in Sacramento to stretch and replenish our weary bones. We turned off on J Street and trolled the area for the first establishment that would meet our unanimous approval. After going around a few times, we spotted and agreed on a Mexican taqueria called La Fiesta Alteña. When we walked in, it was immediately evident that this was much more than a taqueria. The expansive menu, consisting of meats, seafood, salads, soups (including menudo), chips & salsa bar, and even tap beers, has something for every possible inclination or preference for the cuisine. Struggling to decide from all the enticing options, I finally approached the counter and asked if they have any specialty. Well ok, that's not exactly how I asked, I generally (and jokingly) like to ask what they're world famous for. In any case, the young lady was a good sport and I agreed to try her suggested Alhambra Burrito. Now to the meat of my review (pun intended). Our table was served quickly and went immediately quiet, as we all dug in without hesitation. But soon the moans of approval started, followed by "this is so good!" and "uh-huh" statements. My burrito recommendation delivered big time, it was a generous portion of meaty and spicy goodness with every bite, which I initially doubted being able to finish but woofed down in no time. The spaciousness and high ceilings of the restaurant make it visually appealing and keeps background noises down. And last, but certainly not least, the staff is awesome. From the order taker (who laughed at my corny joke-big points!), to the helpful busboy, and the manager who checked in on us, everyone seemed to enjoy working there and having us. I only wish that they were closer to home.

This place is down the street from my office, located next to Safeway on Alhambra. while the outside does not look like much and has a tiny parking lot, the inside sure has a lot to offer. Painting and pictures of local spot are on the all. You place your order at the counter- near the chip bar and self service soda/horchata station. You are given a number to place on your table- which allows the server to find you and deliver your food. I usually order the street 'los tacos' I have tried the chicken, al pastor and steak and i think the al pastor may be my favorite. The quesadilla is fresh and the salsa bar is lit. Can get really busy during lunch time- they have clover POS which is easy to use and seems to work well with their establishment.

visited here numerous times for the menudo. They provide excellent service. I believe this place serves some of the freshest menudo in Sacramento. They also give you a good quantity.

I lived in Oakland for 17 years and had yet to find a taqueria that could even come close to the deliciousness of the food there... until now! The carnitas are CHEF'S KISS. Five stars!

This restaurant has been operating many years, but might have operated under a different name. While visiting a patient at sutter hospital, we decided to try a restaurant near the hospital. So what did we order? 1) Super Taco w/carnitas: it was ok. carnitas were a bit dry. and the size of the "super" taco seemed like a regular size taco with more lettuce and other condiments. 2) chorizo and eggs plate: large portion with minimal spice and flavor. The refried beans and rice were good. it also came with 4 small flour or corn tortillas - not homemade. Overall it was ok. Plus it was close to the hospital. But you will encounter many homeless individuals.
