I must have come on an off day. When we arrived, the diner had many flies buzzing around. When we went to sit down, there was still crumbs from the previous customers breakfast on the table & bench. I quickly wiped it away and hoped the experience would be getting better. We ordered our drinks, unfortunately my husband wasn’t given a spoon so he had to use a sugar bag to whisk his coffee.
When we received our food, we were not given any silverware yet. We waited about 10 minutes hoping our waitress would help us. We finally had to flag someone else to get utensils so we could finally eat our food. I ordered pancakes and the waitress said she’d bring the syrup but never did. My pancakes were cold by the time I finally asked for syrup again. Bathrooms are odd, not sure about the key situation? Overall a very underwhelming experience.

This place is phenomenal. I go often, I'll drive 20 minutes just to eat here. This is easily one of the best breakfast spots in Sacramento.
I thought I had photos to upload, but it turned out I just devoured the food the moment it was delivered!
Give it a go! The food has amazing flavor at an amazing price!!

This place is great for breakfast, they offer lunch items as well. The owner is usually walking around offering some kind of fruit or new menu items as a sample.

Lil Joe's off Arden Way is an absolute gem. It’s easily one of my favorite spots in Sacramento when I’m craving classic diner food done right. Everything on the menu is solid - from hearty breakfast plates to satisfying lunch specials - but my go-to has to be the breakfast burger. It’s perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and hits the spot every time.
The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the portions are generous without going overboard. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a relaxed meal, Lil Joe's always delivers. I would recommend Lil Joe's to anyone looking for an Amazing diner in Sacramento!

Lil Joe’s is back and it’s fantastic! The food is better than ever, chicken fried steak was an actual steak perfectly breaded and cooked and the biscuit was baked not microwaved! The service and vibe is stellar!!! Absolutely recommended!!

Cheap and decent food, and the owner gave us free watermelon, but the service was very slow.
The owner/manager is very generous. The waitress Ana was excellent and sweet. The food was exquisite and you will not leave hungry. This kind of restaurant is truly rare to find today. Thank you for your very pleasant service.

Owner is honestly pretty rude. I work nearby and had planned to try this place at one point, but not anymore!
I had a work event happening at the space next door and there is minimal parking in this area. The only spot I could see at the time was in front of the diner. As soon as I parked there the owner came out and asked if I was going to the event next door. I said yes, I was. Then he commented that I was the third person to park in this general area of parking spots, and I just responded “ok?” Then he proceeded to tell me that there is parking across the street that I could have parked in and it was “mean” and “rude” of me to park in a public parking space. I told him I didn’t see it and was running late for a work event. I’m just looking for the closest available spot. And he just comments that it’s “mean” of me.
I get that parking may be limited in this area, but folks going here can also park across the street if it’s as accessible as he was mentioning to me. Coming out to harass someone parking in a public space seems a little rude to me.
So for sure won’t be patronizing this place. Giving three stars because I haven’t tried the food etc so can’t speak to that.
