For our fifth wedding anniversary, my husband and I came to Localis. I had been wanting to try Localis for years, so I was thrilled when the opportunity arose and we dined there for our anniversary.
We managed to get one of the last seating reservations (not throwing my husband under the bus, but we did make the reservation very last minute), and I was blown away from start to finish. The service was impeccable with all of the wait staff being extremely kind, engaging and attentive. Their depth of knowledge of the dishes was phenomenal, but they presented it in a way that was approachable and not stuffy.
The food speaks for itself. The particular menu we enjoyed was a journey to Osaka, Japan with dishes ranging from sushi and tempura to Ramen and Wagyu. Needless to say, we were both completely satisfied and left extremely full.
It was truly a memorable dining experience, and I look forward to the opportunity to dine here again.

Localis is truly an exceptional dining experience in Sacramento. The tasting menu is creative, beautifully balanced, and full of surprises — every course tells a story. The staff is warm, attentive, and passionate about what they do, which really adds to the experience. The wine pairings are spot-on and elevate each dish perfectly. The atmosphere feels intimate yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a special night out. Easily one of the best restaurants in town.

A story behind every taste. You leave full and fully educated. We've been all over the Michelin world and while they all have been solid and some insanely memorable, Localis is different in that they share lyrics to the delicious music, if that makes sense. Anyway, five stars in our opinion. ✌️♥️

Chef and the staff are very personable. He creates unique menus based on his travels and offers interesting anecdotes about how he comes up with certain dishes, thoroughly explaining what is in each one. The best part is, the menu changes every six weeks or less so you can always enjoy a new experience! Can't wait to go back!

Great service. Uncomfortable chairs. NO VALET PARKING. The food was fine but nothing mind blowing. We all expected more for the money. The dessert was definitely better than the savory dishes. We bought a bottle of wine that was fantastic.
I guess living in LA will do that. Sacramento is still years behind. I'll visit again one day perhaps.

Both my partner and I had a wonderful evening and would definitely come again.

I cannot recommend Localis enough! Truly a 10 star dining experience, from the amazing and beautiful plates to the incredible staff. We were lucky enough to try their Japan/Tokyo tasting menu and every single dish painted such a picture it was as if we were in Tokyo experiencing the owner’s inspiration ourselves. Thank you so much to the staff for treating us like royalty, and to Chris for sharing such an unforgettable experience with us!

Each plate was seasonal and beautifully presented - you can taste how fresh and local the ingredients are. The staff explained the dishes in detail, and I loved learning the story behind what I was eating. My wine pairing was perfect, and the dessert was one of the best I’ve ever had. I left feeling like I’d just discovered one of Sacramento’s best-kept secrets.
