Picked up an order here earlier and they gave me what’s probably worth $4-5 at a grocery store in a flimsy styrofoam box that was extremely sugary and with addition of unseasoned meat. It’s already in a bad area and customer service is poor. Food needs more seasoning for a so called black restaurant. Needs more man power in there.

I was hesitant on coming here because of the mixed reviews. However, Louisiana haven't did not disappoint! Everything was cooked perfectly. We got the catfish shrimp and Fried Chicken. Nothing was overly greasy. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked well. We got the sides of the collard greens, potato salad and red beans and rice and Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese was off tha hook! Everything was really good. The greens were slightly salty. That's the only nitpick I can give on everything that we had. The cornbread looks weird but it tasted really good. It was a fluffier lighter cornbread that I'm used to the more dense kind of cornbread, but I was pleasantly surprised the catfish was super meaty and the portions were all very generous. We couldn't finish everything for the sides. I also got the potato salad and that was really good as well as the red beans and rice. Overall We were very satisfied!

The food was good, but just a little on the salty side. The hostess was lovely; she was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would like to try other items.

Great service
I used to come to this place a lot with my wife it used to be on hit today, which is Nov 12 2024 went and expecting barbecue when we walked in there was a woman mopping the floor she was courteous, but when I asked about the seafood gumbo, they said they didn’t have it I asked about the oxtails they said they had that my wife wanted her three meat plate that she usually gets and they said they do not do barbecue
anymore I was wondering why there wasn’t nobody in the place in the atmosphere was really weird!!! I don’t know if they sold it or what but this place looks like it has gone to hell “SO SAD”

Their barbecue baked chicken was hard as a brick. Scratch my throat when I took a bite then when we call the place to complain they hung up on us and kept leaving us on hold
This place is the real deal. Be adventurous. The greens are some of the best I've ever had.

Cool local spot. Ordered the catfish with mac n' cheese and potato salad. Catfish was fried too hard but the flavor was cool. Mac n' cheese tastes homemade and was really good. Potato salad wasn't how I like mine but everyone makes their's different. Service was great. Overall not bad for the price.

Don not come here unless you have 45 minutes plus to wait around for one entree they are not efficient at all and they barely pay attention to walk in orders. I'm from Texas and this is a degrade of Louisiana cuisine.

I came last week and they had the boudin balls, well they gone now! But I did get my usual which is the catfish plate. Brought my brother here and he reading all the bad reviews on yelp so I came to put my two senses in. The good and service used to be way better. That’s all imma say. I’m gonna keep coming though! Just could use a little love in the recipe department.

I can’t speak for any of the other food, I only tried the Boudain links. Definitely not boudain. This taste like regular seasoned rice. Born and raised in Texas with frequent trips to Louisiana this is not boudain.
The restaurant is a lil hole in the wall type which I like. It gives it sort of an authentic feel to Louisiana, but could use more memorabilia if you truly want it to be Louisiana heaven. They could play some music. Some zydeco…yall don’t know nothing bout that… some jazz or something. Make it feel like Louisiana.
Customer service was ehh. She took my order, I paid and waited. She wasn’t friendly and didn’t talk so.

The food is amazing!! Sometimes you might have to wait a little bit, but believe me, it's worth the wait! Definitely coming back for more! I just found out that they cater too. I want to throw an event just to get more of their delicious food!
Kid-friendliness: The staff was so kind to my kids, they look forward to going there as well.
