Very fun experience! It's basically either tapas or main courses, but you can technically mix the two options. We stuck with the tapas. Had about six different yet wonderful dishes. All the food came out in good time. Our server was excellent, she really helped walk us through the ordering process and was able to answer all our questions
Magpie never disappoints! Amazing food and service. Love the preparation of local seasonal foods.
Magpie service was impeccable, our waiter anticipated our needs and was funny and kind. All of the staff were nice and professional. Food was delicious and fresh! I had scallops and my husband and son had the burgers and everything was wonderful. We loved it and will be back.
Excellent food and service for a celebration dinner. At first, our 6 PM reservation had us in the restaurant where it was pretty noisy on a Thursday evening. It got better after a bit, thankfully. I would eat here again.
Our trio was having a reunion of sorts and we wanted a fairly quiet, reasonably priced "farm to table" experience. That is exactly what MAGPIE offered and delivered. The menu offered a lovely variety of choices including small plates and plates for sharing. And the seasonal cocktail choices were unique and tasty. A perfect dining experience!
The drinks and food were outstanding. The was some background noise that made it difficult to hear. Service was great.
Magpie is consistent- always fresh and delicious. The drinks are great and the service is good.
Wonderful food! Terrific service as we needed to get to theatre, really lovely experience. I wish we were'y in a hurry to get to show.
Beautifully prepared, unfussy, fresh food. No online search required to understand menu. Service was attentive and relaxed. Will definitely dine again.
Magpie is the place to go in Sacramento for delicious, flavorful dishes that draw on the best regional produce, dairy, meat, fish, poultry and wine produced in the wider Sacramento region. Their inventive food and cocktail menu shifts with the changing seasons. Restaurant staff are welcoming, attentive and kind. The vibe is chill, never pretentious. In an era when every California restaurant tries to play the "seasonal-local" card — Magpie is the real deal.

Always one of my favorite restaurants! Great seasonal locally sourced ingredients, flawless cooking, and excellent service.
Ed and Janelle continue to operate one of the very best dining venues in Sacramento. The food is consistently outstanding!
Food and service was fantastic. Our server was very helpful describing the menu and answering our questions. We sat outside so the noise level was very quiet except passing cars. My only downside was there were a few neighborhood flies hanging around but that's the expectations being outside. All and all fantastic spot and will visit again.
A gem of a place. Deserves your attention and worth a visit. Creative menu and bar mixed drinks. Several repeat visits for us.
The food was amazing. We had shrimp salad, hummus roasted vegetables, anchovy toastette and raw scallop dish. Each of them were delicious and presented beautifully. Our server was very attentive and sweet. He let us try the wine ahead we wanted to order. In terms of value, it was reasonable for the quality of the food. Inside ambience is casual. It felt little dark at first but we liked it. It feels cozy and a bit romantic. Although it was a girls night out 😂
