Malabar American Cooking

One can realy enjoy a meal here, weather it be lunch or dinner. The food always tastes great. Service is excellent. One should give it a try. It's closed currently due to the virus, but when they open back up, I really hope you give them a try.

The food is regularly fresh and flavorful, staff members hands out excellent service. I liked the cleanliness and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

Great food but, service at the bar was pretty slow. Waited a while to be talked to but, in all fairness, they were semi busy. Next I'll try the dining side and be able to give a more educated rating!

This place simply knows how to treat their clients. Consistently with a very friendly attitude. The food is reasonably priced, regularly fresh and neat.

My husband and I stopped by the Malabar en route to SMF for Happy Hour.

We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express prior to an early morning flight and were not looking forward to finding a place to eat within walking distance. We expected the usual run of large portion/low quality restaurants. Malbar is within walking distance (200 yards) of the Holiday Inn. The environment is pleasant, fairly quiet. Service was very good. Nice menu with a wide variety of selections. Try the Appetizer Sampler for 2, but don't place your entree order until after you have seen the Sampler. Their wine selection is limited, but their corkage fee is only $10.

Excellent food options and reasonable prices. Went with a group of colleagues where one was vegan and another needed gluten free, but something for the rest of us too. There were lots of great options for all of us to enjoy what we wanted.

I brought a team of coworkers from out of town to Malabar. It was also my first time. The drinks and service were stellar! We really enjoyed the food as well.

I had a reservation for 10 and the table was so small we could barely move. Additionally, the table was located under an open stairway where customers foot track was right above our food. I requested another table but was told we couldn't be accommodated. The food was good but I will not return due to the poor accommodations.

Great Food, Great Service! First time there and we'll definitely go back and we recommend Malabar to everyone. We went on the Amazon Fulfillment Center tour and wanted to eat beforehand with our friends. I picked Malabar not knowing anything about it. Our friends were so pleased with our pick. Everyone loved their food and we all had something different. There isn't anything but positive about this restaurant!!

Great food, drinks, service!

Great service and great food !Was in a hurry with a plane to catch...When or if I am in the area I will definitely come back.

On another 1 day layover. Had dinner here because it was close to the hotel we were staying. We sat at the bar. Bartenders are friendly. The draught beer selection is relatively small, but good choices of craft beers. I ordered a bowl of chowder. It was OK. Yes, it was thick and creamy, lots of clam meat, but outside of the ground pepper on top, it had very little flavor. I was a bit disappointed. That's alright, chowder is not the scale of which I use to measure the skills of the chef. I also ordered the buffalo shrimp. What the chowder lacked, the shrimp made up the difference. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, not overcooked. The buffalo sauce over a light batter had excellent flavor. The only reason I ordered this was some other guy at the bar had ordered them and they looked fantastic. Overall, I like this place. The date this review occurred was four days ago. I have since flown back to SMF. We are heading to Malabar again for dinner tonight.

Very nice Valentine dinner date! Waiter was cordial and the booth was great. How Cab very good and the Salmon was excellent. My steak was just so/so.

Unexpected Fabulous Food! Recently been to overpriced restaurants leaving me with unmet expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by Malabar serving appropriate portions that tasted amazing. The service was perfect. Very attentive and sincere.
