I lived in Natomas for most of my life and I have never visited this Mezcal Grill location - we usually go to the one closer to East Sacramento. We came in on a Friday at 8pm and the place was pretty busy, but we were seated right away. There was inside and patio seating and everything felt clean and modern. We ordered the Soft Flour Ground Beef Tacos and Crispy Chili Verde Tacos. The crispy tacos were not hot and neither was the rice and beans on either plate. The ground beef was super salty, to the point where I couldn't even finish and I like salt. Service was great and friendly, but I was not a huge fan of the food we ordered compared to the other location. I kept seeing other customers ordering the Molcajete so maybe we just ordered the wrong items. We'll give them another chance next time we're in the area!

The food quality is very low for a $17 dish (Mole enchiladas with shredded chicken). With all the delivery fees I paid $30 lol. You can imagine my disappointment at seeing how small the two enchiladas are, how tough (not soft) the tortillas were, and how hard the chicken was. Won't be ordering here again.

As a Mezcal lover, it only made sense to check this spot out. Disclaimer: this review will only be for their cocktails.. my friends and I were too preoccupied with our conversation and drinks that we kept forgetting to order. There's a variety of mezcal to choose from here. I love how the cocktails were only between $12-16. It's rare nowadays to come across anything less than $18 for premium cocktail. Drinks were good, used with higher quality ingredients, and presentation of the drinks was excellent. Handcraft cocktails for low price. Can't beat that. My friend and I sat at the bar, so you would think we would get attention of our server/bartender. Had they asked us how we were doing or if we needed anything else, we would've been able to try the tacos. Oh well.

I still can't say enough good things about Mezcal Grill as I update my review. We visit at least once a month and introduce all of our friends to this place. Everyone is always super satisfied every time we visit and we are working our way over the menu so we know what we're talking about! :D The staff is all super friendly and the service is great. We most recently visited on my husband's birthday and we shared a Molcajete - it was HUGE! And SO yummy! Wow. Still the best happy hour I've been to.

Mezcal is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. I don't even live in California anymore and I make sure I return whenever I come back to visit at least once a year. They are always friendly & welcoming. The brunch is my favorite, specifically the Chilaquiles. I can't find anywhere else that will put refried beans in the dish. Not to mention, their refried beans are the BOMB. So flavorful. Great value for the price. Another one of my favorites is the quesadilla plate with carne asada. It's so much food!! Easily 2 meals, and it's absolutely delicious. Their drinks are great as well. Stop by if you haven't already, you won't regret it

The service was not good and the food was subpar. One waiter was rude and her attitude was nasty. Certain staff at this place does not know how to greet people properly and take orders. There is only one guy by the bar I can say was professional and polite. Since therapy I have changed my ways in the way I react to others behavior, so that is very fortunate for the waiter I came across. I also noticed Africans being treated differently than others that came in. I am empathetic and can understand she may have been overwhelmed , however I expect professionalism still. I will not spend any money with this establishment again or recommend it.

Food and margaritas were decent, but the mezcal drinks are for aficionados only.

Don't know what it is about this location but service is horrible and food not as good as Broadway location. Decided to give them another try as not too many Mexican restaurants in Natomas with sit down service. After waiting 7 minutes to be seated we finally walked out. Several staff saw us and only one acknowledged us but proceeded to help door dash person who came in after us.

Great service and food!! Definitely a hidden gem! Torta is my favorite...the bread is always crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside! I give it 5 stars!

Recently discovered Mezcal grill since I started working nearby and it is now my go-to Mexican restaurant. From the service, prices, and quality of the food it is always on point. Their margaritas and micheladas are also some of the best ones I've had in Sacramento! Shrimp burrito - 10/10 - they aren't stingy with the shrimp and sooo good. Torta ahogada - 7/10 - It's not a traditional one as they use like french bread so its very soft and a traditional torta is made with crustier/harder bread to assist in the torta not getting super soggy. However it was still yummy and the pickled onions were soooo good. Asada plate - 9/10 super yummy and fresh Drinks: 100000/10 I'll keep coming back and trying more things.
