A good place to grab a taco or burrito. We like to duck in for a breakfast burrito on the weekends or if it's a late start maybe a carne asada burrito for me and a couple of tacos for my wife! Service can be a little hit or miss but is generally pretty good. Ambience is meh, I mean they are right on J Street so it's hard to have a great atmosphere concerning outdoor seating. Indoors it's a typical taqueria (love the salsa picante at the chip bar)! One of my regular restaurants.

The food is not good and flavorless. I probably won't be trying this place again. There are a lot of better Mexican options in Sac

Here is my two cents on the food quality and the quality of such.. Delivery was done by GrubHub, which was unsatisfactory instead of handing it to the client. They dropped it off at the door and walked away without even knocking on the door, letting them know it was there. ... I order three items a fish taco a crispy taco and a California burrito... NOTE: I hate that all these restaurants use premade crispy shells for their taco shells... they all break when you pick them up and try to eat the food so they're actually useless... it tasted so much better and was so much easier to eat when they used to actually fried their own taco shell..... plus all the taco shells are always cold when they put the ingredients inside the shells.... My chili Verde taco was only good in the respect that there were a large chunk of pork in the taco .... but as far as flavor goes, the meat itself is pretty mild or tasteless. The only thing that gave it flavor was the sour cream, some little bit of guacamole, and lettuce .. The fish taco was just mediocre....You could actually taste the flavor of the fish in the soft taco shell, which of course when you picked it up, fell apart in your hand ... the size of the quantity of the fish less than even an ounce... I also got the California burrito .. it said with french fries, who the hell thought that they were actually put a couple of french fries inside the damn burrito.. what moron came up with this idea french fries in a burrito.. So there were chunks of actually beef you could see the burrito was not worth the $12.50 for it ... So if you're looking for authentic burritos pass on this place because it's not worth the money or the effort ..

We stopped by for a quick bite after an appointment nearby. What a please surprise- the warm greeting at the counter started our visit off on a high note. Hubby had pork chili verde plate and I had the carne asada tostada. Both were delicious- perfectly seasoned, fresh and served warm. Although hubby's favorite chile verde is at Tres Hermanos, he found this one very tasty and surprised me by cleaning his plate. Free chips and a variety of yummy salsas completed our meal. Once the weather improves, the patio would be a great spot to enjoy some delicious food and a beer or margarita...

Prices have been increasing significantly and amount of food decreasing at the same time. Burrito was 5.95 about 2019 and is now 8.54 with much less rice, beans, and meat. This is WAY over priced for the food you are getting! Joe the owner is scrimping to make higher profits! They should be ashamed of what they are serving and charging customers!

Great food and quick service. Their prices have increased a bit lately it seems, making the visits a little less frequent...but I recommend the place - especially their street tacos and anything they make with carnitas in it.Parking: The parking lot holds about 5 cars...so if you don't make it in, you have to street park as you find it.

We took time out our day to drive to this place and grab a bite to eat. We walked in, stood in front of the register for a ridiculous amount of time unacknowledged while inside was completely empty. The young girl eventually walked to the register, ( she knew we were standing there, said nothing to us) . Before i was able to get a sentence out, she answered an incoming phone call. At this point we walked out! So unprofessional and disrespectful !

We came to Midtown Taqueria after a family walk around the local neighborhood. This was our first time, and we came without reading any reviews on Yelp. I'm glad we did because we really enjoyed our experience. I tried the grilled chicken quesadilla (also available as a super quesadilla) with a side of guacamole. My husband ordered the California burrito with asada. We both really enjoyed the food. Everything was seasoned well and you could actually see the seasoning in the meat. All of the salsas were fresh and tasty - my favorite was the tomatillo salsa. We started chatting with the woman who had taken our order and it turns out she is the wife of the owner. I love getting to support local, family owned establishments. Our quick conversation really stood out and every employee that came out greeted us and asked if we liked the food. It's important to make your guests feel welcome, and I appreciate the commitment to their food tasting good. Also - it was only $21 for our whole ticket including the beer and soda! Next time I'd like to try the pozole.

The food is okay. It’s bland and a bit mediocre, I would come at least twice a week because it’s conveniently located near me. Stopped coming due to rude staff, the heavy set girl has a major attitude to the point where I spoke to the owner about it. He had an attitude as well so I decided to spend my money elsewhere and never came back. Food, customer service, and cleanliness is all subpar. Beans are gross here as well with no flavor and the chips are always stale.

I came here for lunch on a Saturday. The menu is pretty extensive. I asked for a pork tamale and enchilada with carne asada and they accommodated. I've been here before and the food was delicious as usual. I avoided the horchata and jamaica drinks as they're too sweet. I'll be back

Walked here at 7:30pm but they closed 3 hours earlier than what Google hours are listed at 10:30pm 8/21/23. A bit inconvenient.

One of the best taquerias in sac! I've been going here for 10+ years and it is still sooo good. Flavor, texture, price, it's all great.
