truly one of the best specialty coffee and tea shops in sac, arguably the best. love the vibey victorian, the fact that their employees receive a living wage (so menu prices reflect that), and the mint matcha is my go-to! seriously ? dream about it any chance i get! love it here!

Unfortunately, they're not dog friendly. I was just there today and there were two baristas. The guy barista gave my little dog a treat while I order my coffee. It was so sweet. Then I went to the seating area to set up my study stuff. As soon as my coffee was made by the lady barista, she told me that dogs arent allowed inside, but I told her there's another dog in the seating area. It was so windy and she told me to just sit outside, so I left and went to Seasons. Cute place but needs consistency on their dog rules :)
Parking: 1 hour and some 2 hours. It's a busy street.

Neat, clean and cozy. I love that pricing includes tax + tip already. Great place to work (plugs!) or chat w a friend. Excellent cheddar scone. Fans of sweet drinks will like the maple coffee w soda. I'll go for something more basic next time. Forgot to mention: Great music!

I love this place - it's an elegant house, great coffee, reasonable prices. One of the few cafes in town that really nails the basics and even the drip coffee is delicious.
Tried a few of their single origin beans and they were all really good.
Also their all-inclusive pricing model is excellent and I strongly support.
I wish the beans were less expensive, the hours longer, and maybe a few more food options.

A full star for the wonderful baristas that made up for the completely lackluster experience inside. Sour coffee, bland boring atmosphere, and the machines were leaking brown espresso water all over the counters. When I asked the baristas about it, they said it was a recurring issue due to the management refusing to properly maintain and repair the machines. The restroom was in need of several repairs too during my visit as well as the outside seating. The entire establishment seems in need of an update. Again, the baristas were kind and apologetic about the state of the place and things out of their control so I can't fault them, but the coffee is much too expensive to be sold in a place that is falling apart.

Phenomenal customer service, and that's the only reason this place gets 3 stars. I've never gotten a coffee that was undrinkable before; it's so acidic i assumed the milk that was used had gone bad, but nope! Just the roast style. Real bummed we paid $20+ for a tummy ache. :C
