This place is easily the oldest remaining Nikkei-originated business, aside from Oto's. I last went to Osaka ya in the 1980s and it was wonderful to see that they have improved their offerings. Still as delicious as ever. I miss the persimmon shaped wagashi though! A sacramento gem.
First time trying their place so I got a variety of mochi. They were fresh and had a nice texture. However every single mochi was way too sweet for me - the fillings and the mochi itself.

I also picked up the seaweed lays, which were delicious.

It would have given a 5-star rating if the mochi was less sweet.
Love this place! Hole in the wall shaved ice spot, you definitely get your moneys worth! Large portions of shaved ice with yummy flavor options and you can add sweetened condensed milk. They also have a ton of other snack and food options including mochi ice cream and other pastries. This is just take away since there’s no seating, and it is cash only!
