I rarely write negative reviews but this one was horrible Save yourself time and money and go to McDonald's across the street because wow! Genuinely the worst sushi rolls we have ever had. My friend got a Lion King that tasted like flavorless cardboard. I got 1994 roll as suggested per previous reviews and the roll was even worse, tasted like expired cardboard. Would never recommend, not sure where all the positive reviews coming from because this was the worst food experience I have ever had. Sushi from Raley's across the street would have been so much better.
Their spicy mayo taste like mayo, not spicy....
Their spicy edamame is ok, not the worst, not the best.
Their water doesn't taste good, wouldn't recommend ..

The food was just ok. There is so many better options for sushi in Sac. No need to compromise.
As far as the service goes, the staff isn't very attentive. Our server went to lunch without telling us, having coverage, or checking on us first.

It's an overall above average quality sushi and teriyaki bento box restaurant. Location in this area is difficult to traverse. The restaurant is a bit dated and I would stay away from the round booth tables that are offered near the bar area. Unless you're very very short, you're going to have backaches leaning over to eat your meal. I think the atmosphere is just as important, at times, as the food itself. Otherwise it would get five stars!

Used to come here years ago. Still has a great menu of sushi rolls.
It's not a quiet sushi place, but the food makes up for that. Everything is good that I've had when I've gone. Service is prompt and attentive. It's our go to spot in our neighborhood.

Good food, good service, would definitely go again. The prices were pretty reasonable as well.
Parking: The only issue I have with the parking is that the spots in the lot are pretty narrow, be careful where you park

There aren’t many places you find that are interesting sports bars…this is definitely worth a visit. Lots of games on (I went during the ‘24 Olympics and there were at least 4 games on plus lots of baseball) and great, friendly service from awesome staff.
As for food, the nigiri and sashimi are good quality…they keep true to original form. The rolls are the thing to get here…I had a salmon roll and 10 pc nigiri combo …I will definitely come back to try more. Also had an empress gin cocktail which was pretty excellent. I think the ambiance just needs a little updating.
Definitely a chill, laid back place to bring friends, have good sushi and a beer or spirit to wash it down.

A friend took me to Oshima for lunch. It was delicious!
Hot tea can often be overlooked or bland. Our tea was freshly brewed and flavorful Genmaicha.
The miso soup was equally surprising. The simple bowl was well balanced with finely chopped green onions and cubed tofu. It was perfect.
We ordered the seasonal specials. The Mermaid special was especially tasty with crisp cucumber, juicy mango, and tender filets. Highly recommended!
We ordered three rolls but one stood out the most. The Fire & Ice roll had delicious sauce but not too much. The scallops came through with a clean taste and smooth texture- just as they should. It was the best roll I have ever had in 20 years of eating sushi.
Service was attentive but not intrusive from start to finish.
I couldn't recommend Oshima more.

This place used to be ? but has slowly been declining. Today, it declined so low I decided to post a review, hopefully owners see it and decide to make changes. Got some food to go, get home and look at the "salad" ?.
