I have been to this restaurant several times and am never disappointed. The food is fantastic and the service is personable and attentive. The ribs, chicken and tri tip are juicy and I requested the sauce to be all over the place because its so amazing! I have been in Sacramento a short time but when I moved here a couple years ago and found this place, I have brought everyone I know to eat here because its sooooo good! I even recommended this place to Guy Fieri! Thank you for being one of the best!

On a chilly Sunday evening, I embarked on a quest for delectable barbecue food in my vicinity. My search led me to 'Our Family Bbq,' a small, family-owned business tucked away in a quiet corner. Upon discovery, I was delighted to encounter a warm and inviting atmosphere, accompanied by generous portions of exceptional cuisine. Truly impressive! I highly recommend this establishment and anticipate frequenting it for spontaneous barbecue cravings. Thank you for the outstanding service.

Very casual and friendly BBQ joint, hidden away behind a Mc Donalds on Fair Oaks Blvd .
Great options size, chicken and beef ribs were tasty. A bit heavy on the saucing, maybe get it on the side next time?
Mac and cheese was too bland.
I’ll be back.

My partner and I each ordered a 2-combo meal, which gave us the chance to try all the sides along with the pork ribs, tri-tip, and chicken. The baked beans and collard greens were the standout sides, while the potato salad and mac & cheese were disappointing.
As for the meat, it was drenched in BBQ sauce, which had an extremely sour taste that overpowered the flavors. I ended up scraping off most of the sauce just to enjoy the meat. There wasn’t much meat on the ribs, and the chicken skin was so burnt that my partner had to remove it completely.
Service was just okay. We were dining in, but the server packed everything to go without asking, and we had to get up twice to request our drinks and utensils.
Overall, it was an underwhelming experience for the price.

Yummm!! It was a little bit of a wait, but they were so great and the food is phenomenal
This is excellent BBQ. I say best in Sacramento. It is quiet and out of the way. It has a down home feel with very friendly service. The ribs are excellent!!

Went there this week for some BBQ. The sides (didn't try mac and cheese) were ok but the meat was sooo good. Especially the ribs and tri tip. Definitely going back soon

The meat was not very good. It was dry and drowned in BBQ sauce.

After reading rave reviews about this place, we were excited to try it out, but unfortunately, our experience was somewhat underwhelming.
I ordered the brisket and hotlinks, accompanied by potato salad and greens. Sadly, the brisket was far from tender; it resembled a tough steak more than the succulent brisket I was hoping for. I actually don't think I was served brisket because of the cut, texture and consistency. On a positive note, the hotlinks were quite good, and the greens were absolutely delicious—definitely the highlight of the meal. The potato salad, however, was just average and didn’t stand out.
One aspect I found off-putting was how the food was drenched in BBQ sauce. While the sauce itself was tasty, it overwhelmed the other flavors and made it difficult to fully appreciate the dishes. The cinnamon water was a nice touch, and I enjoyed it, but it wasn't enough to redeem the overall experience.
As someone who travels frequently and has a love for BBQ, I came in with high expectations, only to find this place to be rather average. I would never recommend coming here for brisket, as it was among the worst I've had. However, if you’re in the mood for incredible greens, this is definitely the place to go. Overall, I really don’t understand the hype surrounding this restaurant—perhaps it’s the BBQ sauce that’s capturing people’s attention, but it simply wasn’t worth the excitement for me.

My husband and I JUST had dinner here while stopping in Sacramento. We haven’t even left the parking lot yet but I had to run here to write this review. We ordered two Combo Plates. I had the tri-tip with mac and cheese and greens while my husband ordered the ribs with mac and cheese and baked beans. The meat was tender and flavorful, absolutely delicious - the ribs were actually falling off the bone. The baked beans were savory with a hint of sweetness. The collard greens were tangy and delicious. Surprisingly, despite other reviewers saying it was just okay, we loved the mac and cheese and ordered two more to go. Obviously we had to finish off strong with something sweet so we shared a slice of pecan pie , PERFECTION. The portions were generous and we left really happy. I haven’t had BBQ this good since moving away from Georgia. We live in LA now so I can’t tell if I should be sad we can’t make this our regular weekend spot or happy since that means I won’t be gaining 40 pounds off of that pecan pie alone. Thank you Family BBQ and Pies for a delicious dinner!!

OMG, I'm visiting from outside of town and found this hidden gem. The people were great and the ribs and hot links were out of this world good. And the cinnamon water was a fantastic treat. If I had to say anything negative, I'd say..... absolutely nothing. Highly recommend!
