Service is very slow and on a weekend morning you can expect to wait in line for an hour or more. My favorite is Jacob's Wonderbar, when it's made right. I say that because sometimes the consistency is not there.

First time back here in years. Love the coffee here but 2 stars for the service today. Asked the woman who took our order for avocado toast and she blankly responds we stopped serving that 5 years ago…like should have known that. Then a friend and I both tried to pay and we couldn’t tell which payment went through. We asked her and she just put her hands up and said “I don’t know”, when she very well could’ve seen the last 4 digits of the card on the terminal or told us where to look for it on the receipt. Then when we were waiting near the counter for a table she asked us if we needed anything else so that we would move away from the counter. Just overall very cold customer service, not used to that from a coffee shop.

It use to be my favorite place to sit and relax with my friends. But, there is no public bathrooms. So, we stop using or purchasing at this location.

Been a Philz phan since their debut in the Bay Area, and am so happy to have them here in Sacramento! I'm a sucker for one of the drinks that put them on the map- Mint Mojito! Bright and airy space, plenty of seating including a communal table with outlets. Good lightweight EDM music was jamming. In a hip spot with lots of shopping and other eateries. Parking lot can fill up quickly, requires payment.

Service was great but wow the coffee was terrible. I'm not sure how this place is even in business. Two drinks and both of them tasted nothing like coffee. I'd avoid this place if you love your tastebuds. Additionally, what coffee place has no restroom. That's ridiculous people come to coffee shops to work, drink, study. No place to use a restroom and mooching off Safeways restroom.

Was at a conference and was happy that there was a Philz nearby to get my coffee fix to wake me up for my work travels. Very big and spacious coffee shop. They have outlets on table ls to charge electronics if you plan on chilling and studying. Their mobile order system is so reliable. Highly recommend just ordering mobile if you are in a hurry. I usually order a Philtered Soul - comes out amazing every time. No complaints! I can imagine parking might be difficult only if it's busy since there are so many other stores around. But if you're there early in the morning for your coffee fix, then you should be good to go!

A friend was in town and she had a hankering for Philz coffee. We came to this location and circled the blocks for what felt like forever and couldn't find parking. It was raining, so parking a walks distance away wasn't ideal. She dropped me off in front and told me what she wanted so I could go in and get our drinks. I'm it sure if it's like this at every Philz, but ordering here was really difficult. They have one sign behind the counter that tells you what the names of the drinks are and the flavor notes. Then on another wall behind the counter they have the description on the drinks. It was not very easy to read from where I was standing in line. They also don't have very many options and I couldn't tell if they just do brewed coffee or if other drinks were supposed to be lattes. It was super confusing for me. When I got to the front I had narrowed it down to two drinks I thought sounded good. I asked the employee which he preferred out of the two and he said the Philtered Soul, so that's what I got. When the drinks were ready they called my name. I guess they waited for both drinks to be down prior to calling my name, because it was only called once. When I got to the counter, there were several cups waiting there and it was not clear to me what drink was mine. The barista nodded towards a cup, but was busy chatting with her coworkers so I felt like I was trying to guess what cup she was motioning towards. My name was on the cup's stickers, but the sticker was not facing outwards, so I couldn't see my name. It made me uncomfortable having to touch other cups to turn to see if my name was on it. I think it was just brewed coffee with cream and sugar. It wasn't that great, wasn't bad, but it was just fine. My friend got the Ecstatic and that was okay. It was a great reminder of how many wonderful local coffee shops we have here in Sacramento and how I should just stick to the places I know.

When I'm on my way to a 7am work call and forgot to brew coffee, a cup of Jacob's Wonderbar and a sausage sandwich is balm for my soul!

Slow service. I walked over from Light Rail 13th St, I had a 30 min break and placed my order for a mocha. Most places your order is there within 5 mins but I sat there while the barista took his sweet time. Had to leave and cancel my order with a refund. Pretty disappointing, I've been wanting to try this place. They appeared to be understaffed. Stick with Starbucks.

Philz is Philz. It's the epitome of a gentried neighborhood. Once one of these comes in, you know the neighborhood is in trouble. The coffee used to be much better when it was a few shops. As they expanded, the quality dipped, the service dipped, etc. Sort of standard I think with any business expansion. The reason for the egregiously bad rating here is that they do not have a restroom. They call themselves A Peoples Company instead of A Coffee Company, but apparently they either care so little about their customers or they are too "bothered" by homeless people in the area to accommodate what one would consider to be the most basic human ask in a place that serves liquid (a diuretic meaning it literally makes you need to pee). I'd never go back to this location again and in reality would happily avoid other Philz and instead go for good local shops instead.

Went in for the first time this morning. Got a hot cocoa and mini banana nut loaf. The hot chocolate was delicious. The banana nut bread was exquisite. Whoever makes it - in house or not - it’s amazing. Super fluffy, airy, just
