Ramen was delicious, Thai iced tea was fantastic. Service was friendly and fast. I'll definitely be back to try something else.

Ramen comes to mind when the weather is cool and raining! Ever since I heard Pipo Ramen & Rice is on the Top 100 Places to Eat in Sacramento, I have been wanting to try this place. It's located in South Sacramento, off 65th Street, in this quiet plaza with plenty of parking. We came here for dinner a little before 6:00 pm on weekdays, and we were the only customers. The place is clean, tidy, and spacious with a high ceiling. We sat down and were given the menu and water right away. At first, I thought this was a Japanese/Ramen restaurant because of the name. After looking at the menu, it turns out it's a Thai restaurant. Either way, I enjoy both Japanese and Thai food.I love duck, so I immediately knew I wanted the Crispy Duck Fried Rice. I was surprised that the duck breast was served on top of the basil fried rice, instead of diced and cooked together with the fried rice. I really like that because I can see what part of the duck I'm eating. It's also delicious! The duck was crispy and savory. The basil and Thai seasoning add unique flavors to the fried rice. Generous portion. I would definitely get this again. 5/5We also got the Tonkotsu Ramen. It's your typical ramen with the standard toppings and ramen egg (ajituske tamago). The broth is creamy and not too salty. It really is perfect for the rainy weather. 4/5The service was great. The server was friendly and checked on us a couple of times. We can't wait to come back and taste other dishes.

THidden Gem with Exceptional Flavors!I recently was recommended this charming Japanese and Thai gem, and I can't stop raving about it! The ThomYum Ramen seafood was an absolute delight - rich, flavorful broth paired with perfectly cooked noodles. I added an egg for extra protein! So good!!! This mom and pop restaurant exudes a cool, welcoming vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. The dedication to authenticity shines through in every dish like the pork belly. I drove an hour to experience this culinary delight based only my friend's STRONG recommendation, and it was worth every mile. From the first bite, it's evident that the chefs put heart and soul into their creations. The menu offers a great fusion of Japanese and Thai flavors, showcasing the owners' passion for delivering an unforgettable dining experience. Also the service was attentive, and the ambiance added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. It's ultra clean as well. If your a fan of hidden gems and crave a unique blend of Japanese and Thai cuisine, make the trip - you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to return ! This place makes me wish I lived closer.

One of the best Thai foods and ramen I have had! Their crispy chicken is delicious and the pad see ew is amazing! The plates are huge and worth the amount you pay. The service is also great. The waiters are always paying attention to refilling water and polite. Lastly, the ambiance is cozy and could stay for hours eating and chatting. Definitely check this place out if you can!

Very yummy food and love the selection they offer! They have Thai food and ramen, creating fusion. Service was okay.. server rarely checked on us. Food took a while to come out. We probably waited a little over 15-20 minutes & it was not busy in the restaurant. I thought maybe they were bringing out the food all together, but it was only one at a time on top of already waiting. Servers are nice though!!!I ordered a Soft Shell Crab Curry Ramen and that shit was booooombbbb!! If you love curry then this is for you! It is sweet and not spicy. You can request for spicy condiment on the side. I added chili oil. On top of liking curry, you would love this if you enjoy eating soft shell crab. The crab was juicy and soft, was served a generous amount. I also added bamboo to the ramen for additional $. My bf ordered drunken noodles with a medium level spice and shrimp. They skimped out on his shrimp. He counted 4 shrimps and the rest is all noodles. Shrimp was a medium size. Spice level was perfect for him and noodles were also sweet. My bro ordered Basil Chopped Chicken with rice and no spice. The chicken was actually grounded than it begins sliced chopped pieces as we thought. He enjoyed it though. It was sweet and tangy.

Small family business. This place is really good. All the food items we order were super tasty. The cook made the spicy levels to our request perfectly. The waiter and server were super friendly. Gave me a complimentary Thai tea. Ambiance is causal. Perfect for groups, family, or just with a friend. I do recommend this place and would definitely come back. What we ordered:Tom yum ramen (my favorite)Cheese (crab Rangoon) - was a bit over fried but it was filled insideCrispy pork belly - love!Papaya salad lao style - taste authentic Duck fried rice. - all the flavor was there but the duck was bit over fried.

Food are good portion for the price. Everything tasted good. Love the chicken red curry and pad Thai. Papaya is also good. If you love boat noodles, this is one of my fav places for that also.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while but haven't heard anyone talk much about it. But they just landed on the top places to eat in Sacramento for 2023 and have consistently had a high overall rating! We decided to stop for early dinner and we were the only ones during our entire visit. The lady was so accommodating, brought over high chairs for us, and took our order for our kids first while we looked at the menu for ourselves. When the food for our kids came out, she brought it with extra bowls and scissors to cut the meat. We ordered gyudon for them and she was nice enough to ask if we still wanted green onions and ginger on it. It was so delicious and any meal that our kids will eat with protein in it is a winner in my book!My husband and I both ordered ramen. This place is Thai focused so we picked the Pipo curry/khao soi ramen and the Pipo tom yum seafood ramen, but they do have more traditional Japanese style like tonkotsu, miso, etc. When it arrived we tried the broths first and both were amazing, I couldn't decide which was better. If you like a creamier style then the khao soi is for you. If you want to control your spice then the tom yum is good because you get to pick level 1-5. The 3 was just perfect for us, enough to notice but not too much that you can't enjoy the meal. The chewiness of the noodles are perfect and there are plenty of noodles and ingredients too. I think the only complaint is that the tom yum doesn't come with an egg also! The interior is very nicely decorated which is a nice surprise considering the rundown shopping center it's in. It is more secluded away from the busier shopping centers in the intersection so I hope that they will survive. There are plenty of tables plus bar seating. There are a couple tvs but it was just playing the weather channel and there wasn't any music playing until we left. We were hoping to order drinks with our meal but they were out of both Thai tea and Thai coffee which is what we wanted. Hopefully we can order them next time since we will definitely be back for that ramen!

I've been wanting to try the crispy pork belly, it looks good . Plenty of parking and other establishments near by. I order the crispy pork belly, soft shell crab pad Thai, basil crispy pork bell with jasmine , chicken pad Thai, basil chop chicken with jasmine and hot tea. The hot tea wasn't even hot, it was barley warm and you can't even taste the flavor of it. The crispy pork belly didn't have any flavor and my dad who is a horrible cook can make this dish a lot better . It is crispy but plainThe chicken pad Thai was delicious, add some chili peppers to it. The basil crispy pork bell with jasmine taste way better than the appetizer crispy pork belly. I order a level three level spicy for the basil pork bell with rice . Unfortunately they ran out of the soft shell crab . The salad that came with the basil crispy pork , it was cold it had freezer burn and it was soggy .
