Another great experience. The food was really good. The noise level was high and they came to us an offered to move us. We were fine with the noise level but they go the extra mile to make sure guest are comfortable. We thought that was very thoughtful. Everything was delicious.
Great waitstaff, Jake in particular was incredibly knowledgeable on various topics and helpful from the trade side of this business. Incredible view of the state capitol from the outdoor patio. Delicious autumn salad. I will be back with my principals one day!
Everything was delicious. The steak was a bit charred, but it still tasted good. The shrimp were to die for and the scallops weee tender and delicious. I will be back.
Beautiful place, especially the patio with that beautiful view of the Capitol. Service staff was stellar. Food was good.
The food was quite good, as was the service. However, the interior felt like a hotel restaurant (too bright, TVs, corny music) so we sat outside. We were expecting a nice view of the capital at night, but shrubbery blocked the view.
This was my first time eating at this restaurant. The server, Jacob, was very friendly and attentive. But the prices are extremely high. I ordered a chicken bacon club with fries. It was good and plentiful and I was not able to eat it all so I boxed it up to take home. But I also ordered a Caesar salad and added chicken to go. It was boxed up as well and once I got home and looked at it I was shocked at how little chicken I was given and it cost $10! The salad itself is $19! It was good but not worth the price. I don't think I will be back.
Excellent dinner, food and drinks were superb! Went for a customer dinner on a Monday and it was a quiet and great experience.
We absolutely loved our dinner. It was a little slow to start service wise but after we started ordering the service definitely improved and it became a wonderful experience. Vibes were great and I will definitely be back to eat outside!!!
Wonderful establishment. Great service and cocktails, amazing wine list, outstanding food. Will visit again when in Sacramento.
We had an amazing dinner, and the cocktails were unbelievable. Service was top-notch and location is really nice. We will be back.

One of the best dishes I've had with a great atmosphere to eat in. Will definitely want to return later on in the future.
We had a very nice anniversary dinner at Prelude. The outdoor dining is perfect for quiet conversation. The food is outstanding and is matched by the service.
Prelude is a hidden gem, from easy location with a great patio and view of the Capitol. They greeted us with a bouquet wishing us a happy anniversary, and then quickly served up excellent and refreshingly original cocktails, and we enjoyed every minute from a creamy burrata app all the way through delicious and generous portions of mains! I had the pork chop with carrot-harissa puree, and she had the grilled salmon with caper berries, both cooked to perfection, moist and juicy! Next time we will come back for dessert! Bonus points for calling to let me know we left our credit card so we could retrieve before closing. Happy 31st Anniversary to us!
We'd been here a few times before and had always loved our evenings out at Prelude. We decided to invite some good friends along to experience this hidden gem in downtown Sacramento. We were not disappointed! Service was attentive and top-notch throughout the meal, offering plenty of pairing suggestions when requested, and were respectful on approach when we were engaged in deeper, private conversations. We came here raving about the Niman Pork Chop (their staple dish, which was amazing as always), but we were equally impressed with Prelude's other offerings -- the NY Steak, Scallops and an unusual but delectable Mexican-inspired Carbonara pasta dish. Our friends come from local wine families and loved the curated selection of wines by the glass, especially their Pinot Noir. We tried almost everything honestly, with appetizers and salads to share, plus carrot cake and affogato to round off the evening. All in all it was a fabulous evening out and we look forward to our next visit!
Took my fiance here for our anniversary dinner. Service was exceptional and a great overall experience. Will definitely be dining here again in the near future.
