Try the bombas, I can't believe pupusas could get better but wow, color me impressed.
The birria is also great, the Horchata water and fried plantains are amazing. Totally worth the drive, we even ordered extra to go.
Just be aware the service may get real slow if it is full of patrons, as everything is cooked at the moment; can't get more authentic than that.
My favorite!
Authentic salvadorean cuisine
I placed a pick up catering order and they exceeded my expectations. I'm so glad that I have found a popusas restaurant close to home
I really wanted to come on here and give a glowing review, but unfortunately, we had such a bad experience here. My daughter and I got to the restaurant at 8 pm with the intention of ordering food for the whole family. There was a customer who could not hold back from making crud comments, but I chose to ignore him and order anyway. It's not the business' fault that someone is an idiot. I placed an order to go, paid/tipped, and sat down with my daughter to wait for our food. About 15 minutes later, quite a few people started to walk in. They gave their order at the counter, and all sat down at tables. After their orders were in, they were all served their food. My daughter and I watched as everyone ate the meal they just ordered at the counter. At 8:50 p.m.,(almost an hr later) I was finally called to the counter to get my order. The guy said, 'Sorry, we had other orders to fill'. I looked around the restaurant as I left and knew exactly why we were treated like that. The worst part is that I went there because I wanted to support a local business, and this place has such great reviews. This type of treatment is absolutely never okay. I was very nice, not pushy or demanding, etc. If they didn't want us to be there, they could've just said so. I was hoping that they just forgotten about us, but the cashier made it clear they were busy filling other orders. Please don't take our money, if you don't want to serve us. I didn't deserve this treatment, and neither did my daughter. Shame on all of you guys who were there that night. I am absolutely so disappointed that it's 2025 and people still have the audacity to act this way.
I never had Salvador and Food. The manager explained to me the food what they do they address it and what comes with. It was phenomenal. I will definitely be coming back.
Pupusas were delicious, good flavor, not overbearing with salt or grease.
10/10 definitely will come back!! Pupusas are soft and delicious not greasy at all. Everything we order was delicious even the aguas frescas. And the services 10/10. We drove 30+min to get here. Definitely worth it.
My first visit was at night and I had to make several uturns as Google maps directed me to this shop, but I couldn't see it.
If this happens to you, stay motivated- delicious food awaits.
Papusas central has really friendly and welcoming employees. The atmosphere is casual but clean. They had a small and attractive market of imports mostly from El Salvador, football ⚽️ on television, and the other people who came into eat seemed just as happy with their food as we were.
We just got papusas, but with several different filings. Cheese and jalapeño is my go to, and it was very yummy. We also got just cheese papusa, beans and cheese, and chicken with cheese. Every. Single. Thing. Was delicious. Generally the person I was eating with does not like cabbage, but they liked the cabbage and salsa which is served as a side to the papusas.
We came close to closing and I asked for our food to go, but they were extremely hospitable and insisted they would be doing side work for quite awhile and encouraged us to feel welcome to eat there. I asked for our food packed to go in case we couldn't finish it, but we ended up eating every bite there. Definitely check this place out.
The owner or men at front are priceless ..very kind and professional and you can tell there family

Great pupusas and many varieties of pupusas. They have other things besides pupusas as well. Great for lent as Fri we eat fish. They have a little section with latin treats and foods. Baccala whole ready to go a mist try!
The best pupusas in Sacramento
Ordered 3 different kinds of Pupusas today for lunch & a Horchata, the Pupusas are freshly made to order and came with the traditional Salvadoran style cabbage slaw & red sauce . Their slaw and red sauces is better than most other places and the pupusas them selfs were extremely Yummy. The Horchata was very good without being overly sweet like some other places. I Recommend this place. “I will be Back” 😍
Nice 🇸🇻 vibes! The staff was welcoming, very accommodating, and friendly. The food tasted a little one note, but the pops of acid from the cabbage salad helped to brighten it up.
So good! We went to Cielito Lindo in Ataco, El Salvador, where we were introduced to loroco (native flower). This spot also has loroco off menu, and the queso con loroco is delicious! We added shrimp and by far the best.
The pupusas are made to order, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly. The outside is blacked out and looks like it is closed, but if you try it you won't regret!
