So this evening we decided to try out this restaurant to try and support our small businesses. We went and order food waiting for at least 45 minutes when the place was completely empty we didn't check her food or anything when we were there when we got home ready to eat. The food was not hot the beans were rotten straight up, quesadilla was burnt and we order some bread on the side to eat or soup that we got and the bread was legit cold hard. We also ordered a side of shrimp to share and there was probably like 15 shrimps or less very very small just in general I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

We came here after a UC Davis campus peek as my baby is attending virtually this Sept. 30 and in-person later on when safe to do so. Our mission were mangonadas or Mexican desserts. I saw this place had goodies of the sort and bookmarked it long ago. I did come in long ago by myself but do not remember what I got that visit. So this time they both got 20 oz $5 Elotes and I got one of each or (5) $1 street tacos. Pollo, al pastor, potato, tripas and chorizo. They loved their yum yum elotes and my tacos were good. Not too small but right in the middle with the meat. I would have to say it beats out the other $1 taco market on Northgate I usually get mine at. But I need to re-compare them with Tacos de piedad and another white food truck that has lines at night and is bomb. Those are always next to Rico's Pizza on Northgate. But these tacos are good and priced right. Other menu items ranged from a hot dog with Mexican flair, banana split, mangonadas, desserts/drinks with fruit and more. I was told if you buy 20 $1 street tacos, they hook you up with 4 sodas! Good to know! The place is old and a bit dingy. We circled the busy lot missing it a few times as there was no sign with the business name. Pain in the rear end to locate it. Rough area of N Gate. But peeps walking outside to other businesses in the strip mall minded their own and all masked up surprisingly. The place has an old bar, a pool table and maybe 5 tables for dining. I was told cash only cuz credit card machine was down. Hope that was true and not a ploy. Cashier was helpful as she was friendly. I would definitely return for tacos and other stuff. I know I will be asked to hook up my two with Elotes from time to time or mangonada type drinky drinks. Come try it out!

Overall really awesome place! I am obsessed with their $1 tacos! They provide a ton of meat in each and their menu is extensive! I frequent here at least once a week!

I work for Postmates and I had to order and pay for their food so I decided to get a burrito bc I realized I haven't eaten all day. I got their super burrito and a bottled water. Their burrito was great! The customer service was also very kind and amazing. A girl had left her bag outside and the ppl that ran the place found it and gave it to her when she returned. We are in the jungle ppl! They could have kept it but where honest and kind and returned it. It shows a lot about a establishment when they are honest and kind like that. I will definitely will be back. Hopefully they will start DoorDash and the other delivery apps cause they need business. Everyone please come they are family owned and operated.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong things or maybe it was an off day but I ordered a caramel frap which is called something different and it was essentially ice blended with a tiny bit of caramel at the bottom so no flavor. I got the street corn it was soupy which was weird and off putting I guess that means the corn was fresh but melted mayo soup is nasty to me and I also found an eyelash and unidentifiable black bits of things in my frap so that's was off putting unfortunately but the fresh strawberries whip cream and granola is amazing however I wouldn't go back because you can get a great parfait at nektar downtown without the eyelashes.

Food was hit and miss. The ? are bomb but the enchiladas were a bit too tangy, the rice was seasoned in some sections and not in others and had a weird aftertaste. The beans had that same aftertaste. I couldn't put my finger on what it was. The margaritas were tasty but we paid extra for two shots and couldn't taste or feel a thing. So I'm wondering if the bartender forgot and thought we ordered virgin margaritas. I might have to order something different but those rice/beans still need a revamping of the recipe, PERIOD.

I was disappointed. I came here because i saw the good rating and comments and the food in the pictures looked good. I ordered a mangoneada (they call it chamoyneada) and they just gave me a cup full of ice with some chamoy (barely covering the ice) with no mango or anything. Also they were so slow at making it like they didn't know what to do. Some guy came in and they just stopped to talk to him on how he was doing. I'm here waiting for a mangoneada for like 30 minutes and they're over there having a conversation. Never going back.
