The ice cream gets 5 stars but the prices are insane. $6.50 for a small cup with a single scoop and on top of that $.50 extra to "split" the single scoop into two flavors.... I hope the staff is getting paid $25 an hour minimum because that's the only way to justify $7 for a small cup of ice cream.

I ordered salt and straw on door dash and it was so quick! The ice cream is AMAZING and the employees left the cutest note on my bag . Their honey lavender ice cream is to die for!

Tonight, we made a special trip to downtown Sacramento to try Salt & Straw ice creamThis is located at the heart of downtown Sacramento. But don't be intimidated to visit this business. Salt & Straw is located in the redevelopment area of Sac. It is located at the old Ice House. Yes, ice house, where they use to make blocks of ice for early refrigerators.Parking is great. There is frontal parking as well as street parking. The neighborhood is safe and there are plenty of people walking around. Tables out front to enjoy your dessert.Now for the ice cream. My kids had a Lavemder Honey ice cream scoop and my son has the snickers ice cream. Both were very good. Staff here are very friendly and best of all, offers samples . My friends were looking for a place to hang out to continue our conversations after we spent nearly two hours at dinner. Thankfully, Salt & Straw was open until late so we could get dessert and talk some more. Parking was pretty easy in front. A huge party came after us so we were kind of glad we got there at the time that we did (9:15pm on a Friday night).I sampled some of the seasonal flavors: the Banana Fosters w/ Candied Pecans (v) and Marionberry Oatmeal Cobbler (v). Both were amazing flavors but I ended up getting half scoop of Banana Fosters and half scoop of my comfort flavor, Honey Lavender. I believe dividing a scoop into 2 flavors is extra 50¢ charge. It was $7 total. You can also buy pints from their freezer as well. Love Salt & Straw. Definitely could never go wrong!
