Southern eating doesn't get any better than this in Sacramento for simple honest southern food. Sarom and her staff are excellent, food is down-home g-o-o-o-d

I was very surprised with the food. The gumbo was on spot with the rice, smoked sausage and flavors however the waffles was a little to soft or soggy for me; however that chicken was fire.

Service is TERRIBLE here. I've been here 3 times and it's baaaad. Waffles and a couple other things are ok but some things aren't right. But the service was bad enough each time I went that I will never be back. Plus they raised their prices so it's not worth it in my opinion. Many other places to go with genuine good service.

We found this spot unexpectedly our last day in Sacramento. When we got out the car we could smell the food so I knew it was going to be good. I was craving chicken and waffles and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the spicy chicken and waffles and I was so pleased. The staff was so friendly and I will definitely be back my next trip to Sacramento so I can bring my family and try more things. ☺️

I’ve been here multiple times throughout the last 4 years and every time it doesn’t disappoint at all. The go to is their fried catfish is perfectly seasoned and the breading on it is not to thick it’s thin and crispy it’s the second best thing on the menu in my opinion and you have to pair it with the side of Mac’n cheese and collard greens. They have THE BEST collard greens in the city. The collard greens is the best thing on the menu. The chicken and waffles is amazing perfectly crispy and seasoned well not too spicy I’d say it’s a good contender against Roscoe’s chicken and waffles in LA. The biscuits and gravy was hella good. The gravy is very flavorful and not overly floured it’s a great consistency not too thick or runny. The omelette is huge so you definitely get your moneys worth with that. I don’t have much to say about the pancakes a lot of places can make a great pancake, that doesn’t mean it was bad it just an item that can’t really be messed up. If you’re thinking of coming here please do but make sure you get here before 11:30am it gets packed and busy until around 2pm. They don’t have any restrictions on when they start serving lunch. The full menu is available no matter what time you arrive. They are also available on DoorDash.

Disappointed that this wasn’t a black owned business and thus no sweet potatoes. My fault for not better researching. Food was OK. Fried chicken needs to be cooked longer! I want NO PINK. Had to recook in my air fryer and add more seasoning—kinda bland. I ordered Southern Fried Chicken plate-wings ($25 total including $2 bottle of water). I asked for a side of white rice with the intention of pouring the gravy on my rice. Order arrived, no gravy, no biscuit. Server didn’t make it clear that he “subbed” for the rice. That’s not what I wanted. Received gravy and it’s standard white country gravy. Collard greens were decent, not vinegary. Did have to add plenty salt and pepper to everything. Service could be better, had to ask for napkins, barely greeted when walking in and an unwelcoming sign to write your name, number in your party that then says wait outside to be called. There was seating available so I was told to seat myself. Not offered a menu upfront. Price was good but location, service and undercooked wings…I wouldn’t go again.
