My recent visit to Scott's Seafood on the River left much to be desired. Despite having made a reservation for 11 o'clock, my party of eight, which included seven adults and one child, found ourselves waiting for over 20 minutes just to be acknowledged. The ordeal continued as we waited well past noon before finally being attended to, despite the restaurant being almost empty. The service, or lack thereof, was appalling. It took an additional 30 minutes for some of our meals to arrive. Others waited longer, leaving us all hungry and frustrated. For example, my mother waited over 30 minutes for an Ahi tuna salad. The inefficiency was baffling, especially given the sparse crowd. It's no wonder the establishment struggles to attract customers. To add insult to injury, the wait for slices of cake, which was pre-made, dragged on for another 15 minutes. The entire experience left my family thoroughly disappointed. In summary, Scott's Seafood on the River failed to respect our time, delivering subpar service and leaving us with a sour taste in our mouths. It's a shame to see such potential wasted due to poor management and execution...

Beautiful Mystery

First time dining at Scott's Seafood in Sacramento, CA. The food wasn't as good as I was expecting. The cup of cream of broccoli soup tasted like leftovers not fresh. The lemondrop wasn't the best slightly watery. My burger was very good. My son enjoyed his meal and my husband's food was hot but was overpriced. I have experience working for a local Chef in Sacramento so my standards are high. My server Leslie was great though & on point with everything.

Food was ok. Expected better quality… ordered medium rare steak and got medium well… didn’t send it back since it was small filet mignon but very disappointed. There is so self parking, you must valet your car for $8… valet service is busy and so expect to wait a while for your car.

We arrived a little early for our reservation and gave our name but asked if we could sit in the bar for a bit - were told this was no problem. We had our service dog with us and confirmed with the waitress that he was a service dog. She said she'd seat us somewhere appropriate. Not sure what that meant, we proceeded to the bar area and ordered drinks. At exactly the time of our reservation, the hostess came over and said she needed to seat us right then and we couldn't stay in the bar. We were escorted to an outdoor table. The heaters were on and it was comfortable and a little bit quieter so no complaints but I had to wonder if this was due to having a service dog and the hostess being unaware of the allowances for such dogs. Our waiter Chris was fantastic, acknowledged my food allergies and helped with my menu selection. At some point, the heaters were turned off and it got chilly. We were finished so we moved back to the bar area. There were no servers so we went to the bar to order. Overall a fine experience. Last call is at 9:30 pm and this is the only place around to get food or drinks. Since we were staying at the Westin, we'd hoped to have a comfortable place to have conversation and drinks with our family.

The food & service were fine, but I was not aware that you cannot see the river...they are working on the levees and Scott's has built a big wall completely blocking the view - which was the main reason we selected this restaurant to eat in. Also, there was forced valet parking (no self-parking option) which added a significant fee to our meal.

Food was ok. Asked for medium rare steak but came out medium well. Didn't send it back since the filet mignon was a small piece but was disappointed. Be aware that there is no self parking and there is an $8 charge for valet parking... valet service is busy so expect having to wait for your car.

It was date night for us. They sat us in the back of the restaurant in a drafty area near all the very large parties, then proceeded to ignore us for 15 minutes before somebody came and asked if they would like something to drink, the drinks were horrible. The food was average, All in all, it was not a great experience we won't be back

We enjoyed everything about our dinner at Scott's Seafood! Service was excellent, food was amazing, noise level was low! Scott's is getting to be our new favorite place for special occasions!

It's been a year since my husband and I have been to Scott's. Let me give you my feedback: Wine selection - Great options and a bit over priced compared to other restaurants. Appetizer- Always love the oyster selection. Perfect every time. Food - The lobster tails seemed to be smaller than the 10 ounces we normally would receive. And, they are over seasoned. They give you a lot of mashed potatoes (to much for me). I did however, love the asparagus. Dessert- Cheesecake and Crème brûlée you can't go wrong. Excellent every time. Our Server - Unfortunately I did forget her name, but she provided great customer service. Ambience - Scott's has definitely made changes and in my opinion not for the better. While the decor is fine, the MUSIC made me feel like I was Chili's, TGIF's, Applebees etc.... So disappointing. When I go to dinner and spend $300 for 2 ppl. I do not want to be listening to 80's/90's music. I would appreciate something a bit more easy listening.

Always an excellent choice for both lunch and dinner dining. Beautiful atmosphere, excellent friendly and efficient service. My lunch go to is mostly always the wedge salad with a side of prawns. Valet parking is still required due to the Army Corps of Engineers project on the river but it's only $8 and very friendly, quick and efficient.

Last time we were here was 10 years ago and the food was just as good as we remembered however the construction project still underway takes away from some of the experience:The wall is still up though there is an interesting mural to look at instead of the river...Valet is now mandatory and was 8 or $10 when we visited (though we parked a block away and walked to avoid this)...Lastly we started our meal outside but due to SO many mosquitos and no type of repellent measures taken, we felt forced to move inside.Staff were pleasant all night and food came out quick. Can't wait for construction to be done and some citronella to be available!

Bland, overpriced food. Will not return. The ahi tuna nachos tasted fine, but it was not what we expected for almost $30. We received a large pile of chips with a sprinkle of tuna and avocado, and tons of sauce. It was very messy and hard to eat.We ordered two filets with scallops. Both were bland and not very good quality meat. One was overcooked. The first thing I noticed when my plate came was the veggies being pale and overdone. The mashed potatoes were dry and dense, and also bland.Dessert was also very underwhelming. Again, fairly bland. The service was fine, and the atmosphere was ok. Not what I was expecting for a more upper class restaurant.

We meet friends there, we are from the Bay Area, they are from the Placervillle area. This was our yearly lunch, been doing it at Scott's for the past 5 years. Menu is always good, changes a little bit each time but in general very good choices. Enough variety that some times we exchange tastes from each others entrees. Wine is good, mixed drinks are good, and the variety of beers is good as well. It wasn't busy on Monday when we ate there and the noise if any was minimal. We all had a good time.
