Selland's Market-Cafe East Sacramento

My friends took me to one of their favorite restaurants while I was visiting them in Sacramento. And am I sure glad! The food was excellent. I chose the Chicken, Bacon, Jalapeno & Goat Cheese Wood-Fired Pizza. Amazing, though there was a lot of arugula, every now and then you'd get a spicier jalapeño, but the goat cheese was fantastic. My friend went with meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and she let me have a bite! The meatloaf was good, BUT the mashed potatoes have to be the best I've ever tasted. They have fresh water and citrus water available. I completed my meal by enjoying a Basil Lemon Smash cocktail and a Chocolate Mousse Bar, again both were mouth-watering. I would advise not to try to save the mousse bar for later unless you are going straight home, it does melt.

Loved eating here. The food is well made and tasty. The service is friendly and courteous. We celebrated a birthday so the desserts were very worth it as well.

Unattractive building, located on an unattractive sacramento city block. Non-existent landscaping.

The city needs to do more to beautify our city streets. Sacramento needs to slow down the traffic so H Street is safer for kids to cross.

Sacramento has no beautiful walkable retail street.

If you want to eat raw chicken this is the place. Happened twice running. Just kids in place and no one in charge. Terrible

The food and staff are wonderful and I love the remodel. Something got to be done about the acoustics in there, however. One loud table can have shrieks and sounds bouncing around so much louder. If you eat inside during peak times it's just an assault on the senses. Some dampening on the ceilings would go a long way. I can barely hear the person across from me talking, otherwise.

I have to say is if you advertise something make sure you communicate with your cashier when you run out cause when a customer pays for their meal $60 for 2 people and sit down and are anticipating there lunch and you walk up to them and say unfortunately the guy in front of you purchased the last pieces of chicken and we can just substitute you . Well that’s not good enough for me instead you should of said I apologize to you guys but we are all out of chicken I’m going to refund you for the 1 meal you ordered and give you your choice of combination for the inconvenience. But instead he just let us walk out hungry and disappointed cause I actually liked this place and to get treated like that was disrespectful to me! I’m a business owner as well I would never do that to my customers! Ultimate disappointment!!

I kept it simple and the results surprised me. I had the soup and salad for lunch this past week and it was nice and filling. I didn't care for the dry bread but that doesnt matter. The tomato soup was creamy and the house salad was the hit surprise. I made sure I put the soup aside to finish the salad. Ice tea was refreshing and we took it to go.

The food is delicious and the service here is above a 10 absolutely genuine and attentive. Then the atmosphere is very welcoming. But the inside can be a bit loud. Seating can be limited inside but outside you have your choice of 3 tables or a bench. Of course you understand this is most restaurants out in this part of Sacramento. So ordering ahead and making it to go is more than likely a real win.

Always pleased with the food. I absolutely loathe the remodel. Going to the H street location used to not just be a treat food wise but as a calm pleasant cafe feeling experience too and now it is a loud and chaotic offense to the senses. I only do take out from Broadway because it's always been like that, and now h street is ruined too.

It's not the best gourmet food you expect from high end restaurants, but it really taste good!
