Fun little car themed cafe with plenty of tables to study and comfy couches to enjoy your cup of coffee. The tables are close to outlets if you need one for your laptop.
I ordered the Iced Baja Chai Latte which is their take on a dirty chai. It has a shot espresso to keep me awake. I didn’t get a chance to order their grilled cheese but it’s on my list when I’m in the area again.
The staff was really nice and the theme is very charming. I love tha even the wifi password is cars themed.
Only downside, which is out of their control, is that street parking is limited to 2 hours so I had to move my car.

Shift Coffee Shop is an absolute gem. Their grilled cheese sandwiches are outstanding—perfectly crispy and toasted on the outside, soft on the inside, and loaded with cheese that delivers an impressive, arm-length cheese pull. Clearly made with care and quality ingredients.
We tried the Firehouse and BayArea Brisket Sandwich which I was expecting to have more meat though. It was equally good nonetheless.
Tomato soup is great as well. Perfect for pairing with the grilled cheese sandwich or on its own.
The chai latte is excellent—rich, well-spiced, and not overly sweet—and the coffee is equally impressive: smooth, flavorful, and consistently well-crafted.
Whether you are stopping by for comfort food, a great latte, or a solid cup of coffee, Shift Coffee Shop delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended.

The breakfast sandwiches are phenomenal, 10/10, probably the best I've had in Sacramento. Not cheap, but for once, actually worth the money. The coffee was meh.

Holy moly this place was amazing! So many creative grilled cheese options! I tried one with blood orange olive oil and it was to die for. The Bugatti Royale Latte was so dang good I had to order another before I left!

Super good sandwiches! I will be back for those. The dark chocolate mocha was pretty bad, I would try something else next time. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the interior was neat.

Been hearing about this place awhile and just now experienced this gem in Uptown Sacramento aka Old North Sacramento for a meeting. Brisket grilled cheese is a slam dunk! No BBQ sauce needed! Paired with a delicious flat white (was prettier when I first got it, I added stevia then tried me best to recreate the beauty) brewed with NAKED ☕ coffee your can't go wrong! We also had the tomato soup which we just couldn't stop taking about (sorry no photo). Patio areas, and vibin' music to boot! Best to park on the right side, exit thru the alley.

Their employee, Drew, went above and beyond to help me spread some Christmas cheer to my aunt. I appreciate her kindness and extra effort. We need more people like Drew!

It's okay. Ambiance is nice, food and drinks are very expensive in general and for the area. Also, since no one else dares to be honest enough to say this: there's an outer shared bathroom with other suites (separate mens and women's). Given how the water pressure in the faucets is abysmal (and not to code) and it smells of sewage (at least in the womens, not from lack of cleaning, there's clearly something wrong with the pipes/drainage, get your slumlord to fix it already) ... because of these factors this restroom shouldn't require a code to gain access, these are not customer-caused issues.
Literally there are public restrooms with better water pressure and no leaking sewage smell.
I don't know what it is with Sacramento and in particular this part of town, but people actually care about water pressure and the faucet should be more than a trickle. This does reflect poorly on your establishment even though the food and drinks were okay (but overpriced by a lot). It's not a comfortable atmosphere if there's some kind of long-standing drainage problem your slumlord refuses to fix... because if you want people to hang out in your actual atmosphere, people will need the restroom sometimes, and that shouldn't be an unpleasant experience. I don't know what Sacramento has against decent water pressure, but it's really not adequate, and that should be noticed by adults and fixed by adults instead of expecting people to pay over $40 for 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches and encounter an awful restroom (again, not from lack of cleaning but the very obvious unattended plumbing and water pressure issues that actually do affect a person's experience).
Wow! What a gem! Having one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches, with an amazing latte and watching F1 racing!! Thanks shift coffee house!!
