We arrived around 5:30pm on Saturday evening and there was only 1 person working behind the counter. She had to take order one at a time and made it for the customer; hence, there was a short line.
We ordered upside down ahboong with cookies & cream and milk tea swirl and custard filling. We got our ice cream pretty quick. The milk tea flavor was weak (tasted more like milk) but the cookies & cream was good. The taiyaki was fresh so it still has crispy crust. The custard filling was yummy too! We wish that there were some tables to sit so we can enjoy the ice cream comfortably.

My husband and I really enjoy this place, so much so that we came again later joined by my family. The taiyaki tasted delicious and so did the soft serve. All of my family enjoyed it and had no buts. Also did I mentioned the prices? Compared to other places I feel like this is an amazing price for how filling they are! You could see how they make everything and everything is fresh. The bathroom is also clean and they also have a jar with some water if you need any. Now the cons, as other person mentioned, there are only bars to eat. When my nephew joined us who is 3 and my niece of 6 really wanted to sit. It’s hard to bring kids here without somewhere to sit. The space is also somewhat spacious so I do feel like they could add a few tables and some stools. My husband also got his last time without the cup and lets just say he almost took a bath on his soft serve; so, maybe be careful if you choose this for yourself or children. Overall I do think the pros are bigger than the cons and those prices can’t be beaten. We’ll definitely come back again!

I would’ve loved to sit down here, but they only had bar height to stand at. Matcha ice cream with matcha powder topping was tasty. I got a fish with black sesame inside on top of my matcha ice cream. This is probably the third Somisomi location in California that I go to. I still would prefer to sit down. It’s a meaty ice cream that requires more time to enjoy.

The taiyaki cone was ok. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was no crowd. There are no tables, just a platform near the wall where you can stand and eat. There was one person at the counter and he was ok, not super friendly but not mean or anything either. We got the ube taiyaki with red bean paste. It was ok. This is our favorite combination and we've had some amazing taiyaki in San Francisco. We thought the ube was not as strong as we like. The taiyaki cone was thicker than we usually like. The red bean paste was more powdery than a paste. Again, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't everything that we've come to associate with a taiyaki soft serve cone.

A nice SomiSomi location in Sacramento. The service was fast, and the quality was good. My favorite is the ube, and the taiyaki is so good when eaten fresh. I think the ones I like are nutella, custard, and macha.
Plenty of parking, and easy to find location. And I felt the service here was faster than other SomiSomi places. Prices have been pretty consistent and it's quite reasonable. Enjoy!
