Sumer Nights is a restaurant that truly embodies hospitality and authenticity. From the moment we arrived, Barakat, the owner, welcomed us warmly and even took time to sit with us, making us feel like honored guests rather than just diners. That personal touch set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
The menu showcases authentic Iraqi and Mediterranean cuisine prepared with care. We sampled the Masghoof fish, and beef kabobs, and each dish was full of rich, traditional flavor, generously portioned, and beautifully presented. The balance of spices and tenderness of the meats reflected both quality and tradition.
Prices are very reasonable given the portion sizes, and the value is excellent. Beyond the food, what makes Sumer Nights exceptional is the atmosphere of warmth and community. Dining here feels like being welcomed into someone’s home. I don’t as visiting from Minnesota and will be sure to add Sumer Nights on to my trip when I am visiting Sacremento.
Whether you are local or visiting the area, this is a must-visit for anyone seeking genuine hospitality and authentic Middle Eastern flavors. Highly recommended!

Great place however, the taste is not that exceptional as it's been advertised. Majority of the things are not that great as they should be. The food taste was not good at all at over last visit. However, the view is exceptional as compare to the food.
i don't know why? this is always close 🤷🤷🤷🤷
We’ve been coming to Sumer Night Restaurant for a while and truly appreciate the hard work of the waitstaff, they’re doing their best. Unfortunately, it’s clear they’re severely understaffed, especially during rush hours. While they manage fine with a light crowd, the team struggles when it gets busy. Service slows down, and there’s a noticeable lack of direction and presence from management.
One of the biggest letdowns is how the food quality has gone downhill over the past year. Our meals arrived cold, even the tea, which really surprised us. There also seems to be no formal seating process — we had to seat ourselves, which felt unorganized and awkward.
Despite the issues, we still tipped our waiter well because we could tell it’s not their fault. It feels more like a lack of training and leadership, if management even exists. This place has so much potential, but it seriously needs better structure, customer service focus, and someone to lead the team properly.
We hope to see some improvements soon, we want to keep supporting local, but it’s hard when the basics aren’t being met.
Terrible experience. I walked in, stood there like furniture — no one greeted or acknowledged me. When the food finally came, it was just as cold and bland as the service. Won't be coming back.
As someone straight from the heart of the Middle East, I walked into this restaurant hoping for a taste of home — instead, I got the worst customer service and food
The service? Imagine asking for water and watching your waiter vanish like it's an ancient desert myth. I wasn’t sure if I was at a restaurant or applying for a visa — that’s how long I waited.
The food? Let’s just say if hummus had feelings, it would’ve filed a lawsuit. The kebab was so dry, even a camel would pass. And the rice? Crunchier than my uncle’s political opinions.
If this place is a “taste of the Middle East,” then I’m officially from the suburbs of disappointment.
Simple ingredients, perfectly executed.
Great taste, almost everything they have is good. I wish you success and to continue providing good service.

This is the best place we’ve been to in recent times! We felt like we were visiting family, where everyone is going out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We ordered a Chicken&Lamb tikka and a Greek salad, they immediately brought us soup (two plates, instead of the one ?), then some different vegetable additives, bread, salad... while they brought us the meat, we were already full and satisfied! The service is aerobatics, we decided to leave the maximum tips, and when we asked the waitress «where is the category of tips?» she decided, apparently, that we can’t leave a tip and said «oh, you can just press skip, everything is fine» ????? modesty!!!
The food is just amazing. I really liked the soup and rice, and my husband, of course, liked the lamb the most. Just a great place. We are now your regulars ❤️
