T & R Taste of Texas Barbeque

Some of the best BBQ I've had in a while. I'll go here again.

I always stop at T&R Taste of Texas Barbecue before heading up to see if the old hermit Hillside Jack is still living up there on top of Grizzly Peak.
I got some BBQ chicken and stuff from my garden to take to him because he doesn't come off the mountain anymore since he stopped cutting his hair and beard, and looking more like an animal than a man. We sure liked the chicken, and it was much better after we poured a bunch of hot sauce on it!
It's a 5 star experience! ☆☆☆☆☆

Ribs were on point. BBQ beans were good. Greens need more seasoning but still good

This place was my first time here the place was very dirty the food was nasty the only good thing was the corn bread and ribs they need to remodel the place Potato salad was nasty greens was to Spicy I will not eat there again

I ordered the tri tip and ribs, and it was so good! Will definitely be back to try other things here.

The restaurant is very dirty. I ordered the ribs and they were dry and tasted old. Never going back. This is the second time I got nasty food.

Honestly I don’t even want to give this dirty place 1 star. I couldn’t believe the way the inside of this place looked. It was DISGUSTING once we got home with the food we literally threw it in the trash. I couldn’t eat it knowing how dirty this place was. I don’t know how they are in business.

Really reasonable prices and great portions especially in comparison to most of the other places on this portion of broadway– and so, so good. Literally, I would’ve included a picture of the sandwich I just had but I was so engrossed with eating it I didn’t even think about it before it was gone.

Some of the worst bbq I've had. Ribs were tender but burnt on top with a bad taste. Sides were pretty bland. They covered everything in a ton of bbq sauce, even the hotlinks?? Complete waste of a ridiculous $27

I Can’t Believe This Place Is Still In Business. The Food Was AWFUL, Everything Drenched In Terrible BBQ Sauce. How Does Your BBQ Sauce Suck So Bad As A BBQ Place? The Greens Should Be A Crime- BLAND and MORE BLAND, No Flavor Whatsoever - Nothing In It At All ? The Cornbread Was So Hard And Dry, Tasted Old. Nothing Special About The Sliced Hot Link, They Even Messed Up The Chicken- The Rib Was A Huge Disappointment, Little Meat, No Moisture. You Just Tasted DRY Meat With A Truck Load Of BAD BBQ Sauce.
Customer Service Is NOT A Thing Here, They Are As Dry And Unhappy As Their Meat. The Whole Establishment Is Just One Big Mess!!

Being from out of town and didn't know where to eat. Saw this and was like yes I need ribs. When I got to the place it looks like it's not on the best side of town and the bldg looks run- down but that's my jam. They were unfortunately out of ribs :( which I wanted badly but they still had tri-tip so we got the plate and sandwich along with the texas tots, corn on the cob and the BBQ beans. And oh man was this worth it. My boy had the plate and I had sandwich which neither one of could put it down and stop eating. I definitely recommend it.

No indoor dining. Solid service though, good food. But to much bbq sauce on the food. I wanna taste the smokey taste. I could taste it but It got overpowered by bbq sauce. Other than that the baked beans are some of the best I've had. Food was still really good. I would still eat here and just ask for bbq sauce on the side

T&R isn't much to look at, but the food is good and the owner is honest. All the meats are tender and the hot links are on point. The sides are not exceptional but a good complement. Ask for your sauce on the side. This is a take out establishment.
