This is my first time being here at Saap Saap Thai Cuisine on 33rd & J St downtown. The experience overall was average and decent in my opinion. The service was good and the food was tasty and delicious. There wasn't too much selection on the menu to pick from. The menu was a bit pricey and it was worth it. I will give it four out of five which is pretty much above average. Would recommend coming here again next time.
We live nearby and often get drunken noodles and curry for takeout, although all dishes we’ve had here have been flavorful and great. The portions are generous and the quality is consistent. We’re so happy Thai Palace is in our neighborhood!
I brought 12 people for dinner. The food was all delicious. My guests were delighted. Tiki, the waitress was gracious and efficient. Top place for good food, easy parking, and quiet ambiance. People can hear each other talk.
Tomkha was best I have had in years. Lemon Chicken was delicious, and Thai Ice Tea and Coffee were just right.
Quiet lunch was great. Mango curry with nice spice. Talent in the kitchen. Recommend.
Portions are tiny. Their regular size portion is essentially leftovers in a take out box from any other restaurant. You get more food in a panda express bowl
This is place is RACIST, I went inside to pick up my door dash order and was refused to pick up the order by the merchant(the store workers). When I asked why she wouldn’t give it to me they told me they weren’t sure if I was going to eat it or not. Im a young black man btw. I even called the customer letting them know the store wasn’t allowing me to pick up their order and it was still a problem. My friend that I was with at the came inside to check what was taking so long and he was white and she was trying to talk to him and give him the order for me which we both then decided to leave. This place is HORRIBLE AND RACIST I WOULD NEVER spend a DIME Here. PLEASE go to COCONUT ON T instead way better in all aspects.
I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and plan to keep coming back! The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is fabulous! My favorite dishes are the Red Curry with Calamari, Pad Kee Mao with Chicken, Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai! I also really love their Thai Iced Tea as well!
The Mango red curry was fantastic! Only 4/5 stars because they served still-frozen crispy spring rolls (that were good once warmed)
This is a lovely Thai restaurant. They have items on the menu that I've never seen before, and the chef obviously takes pride in his work. I'll definitely be going back to try some of their other delicacies.

The most delicious, crispiest dumplings I’ve EVER had. I tried the lychee iced tea, mouth watering. The sweetness of the tea complimented the saltiness of the dumplings so well. This was actually my first time ever trying tom yum fried rice, & I really did enjoy it. The food was also prepared quickly, the interior was astounding to say the least, overall I enjoyed my visit here. Highly recommend.
This was my favorite Thai restaurant when I lived in east sac- everything was delicious and I frequented at least 4x/month, if only for their fresh rolls (their tofu is sooo much better than other restaurants that just fry it).Since my move to the suburbs, I’ve made a point to visit them when I’m driving through Sac to get some to-go, especially during Covid.I understand Covid has had a tremendous impact on the restaurant industry and I truly sympathize- I try to be more conscious of supporting small businesses rather than chains. I’ve gotten take-out from here a few times during Covid and I’ve just seen the quality that made me crave this restaurant go out the door. The first few times, I ignored the portion sizes- they’ve gone down significantly. Even noodle dishes are 1/3 of the portion they used to be and the price even went up- understandable pivot in these times.I’m okay with paying for quality food if you have to lessen the portions for your business to survive; I’m not “ok” with lessening portions AND raising prices while overlooking the quality that got them all their awards they proudly display. The first few times the portions were smaller and something was missing, I let slide.Last night, I was driving through Sac and ordered a few fresh rolls- I was excited to share my favorite fresh roll experience with my family. I tried to order online but it wasn’t available and I was happy for them because I thought it meant they were busy. So we called in our order. I usually order more peanut sauce but communication was hard over the phone because the background music was so loud. Again, I’m assuming it’s a full restaurant.I get there and there’s only one table occupied but the music is still loud- okay. We get home and they don’t even include peanut sauce with their fresh rolls now. On top of that, there were no herbs that make a fresh roll what it is supposed to be- it was just carrots, noodles, tofu, and lettuce- they weren’t even properly wrapped and everything was busting out; they were a major disappointment.Their wonton soup was always my favorite comfort food- they actually introduced me to how amazing Thai wonton soup can be. They never included all the vegetables, like most restaurants, but the wontons, spinach, and broth were all we needed for my kids- we got 3 wontons and a few leaves of greens in our order. We paid almost $50 for 3 wontons, a few leaves of spinach, and 2 orders of fresh rolls that included no herbs and weren’t even rolled properly- even during Covid times, when I’m very sympathetic, it doesn’t sit right with me.Their food can be delicious but I think they’re riding on past awards and community support while losing quality to get them through and I don’t support that as a business model. I won’t go out of my way for a pick up order here anymore because the last few have been so disappointing. I do hope they’re able to get back to the great restaurant they once were.
They have the best pad Thai in the city.
Love both dishes.....Pad Thai and Lemon Chicken..Unexpectedly GOOOOD!! ?
Disappointed in both the Garlic & Pepper Chicken and the Prawns w/ Silver Noodles that we ordered for dine-in dinner. The quantity of the G & P chicken was half of what we've had at other Thai restaurants. In addition the green beans were leathery and not fresh. The quantity of the Prawns w/ S. N. was satisfactory but the prawns, although not overcooked, were extremely bland. We had to add copious amounts of soy sauce and fish sauce to make it flavorful enough to eat. In addition, the silver noodles were clumpy. My wife and I finished both dishes because we were hungry but I won't be coming back to this restaurant.
