The bolt is a great bear / leather / fetish bar with many theme nights and a great crowd. There is a pool table and darts, both free on Tuesdays. Free BBQ on Sundays. The bar staff is friendly and fun.

I love coming here to meet up with other gay guys. Kinda hard to blend in at first, but after going there for a short time, other guys are more friendly. The troof is awesome to be an Xtra to get drained. It does get very busy weekends and special events, but you'll get serviced. Backyard is an awesome place to just relax and meat others. Pool table gets really busy, but you'll get to play. Overall, it's really a good place if you want to mingle with other gay people. Really love sitting out near the fence to get a good view of everything.

Beer is food. And the prices are incredible. Two half pitchers of beer rent us $20 before tip. Wow. Just wow. Very nice.

Disappointed is an understatement!!! My friend who identifies as a bear, and is attracted to bears discovered this bar from recommendations on Reddit. We’ve been to all the Sac gay bars and my friend was stoked to finally find a bear/leather club. Well, upon arrival, our group of four (two gays, and two bisexual gal pals) sit ourselves at the bar. We waited for about 7 minutes, noticed otheres who walked up after us were getting served first but just figured the bar tender was overwhelmed or just being human. He comes over, checks mine and my friends IDs, seems all good, then goes to my other two friends checks their IDs…. Says hmmmm you don’t look like the picture (to both individuals) and asked them to state their drivers license number to which they say can you ask anything else cause who knows by heart? and the guy walks away and says nah I’m not serving yall get out. I say well if they’re out, we’re also out. I tried to reason with the bar tender and defend my friends since nothing like this has ever happened before to us going out (again we’re a group who goes to the bars in midtown weekly). The bartender ignored me and wouldn’t talk with me… so we all left. My friend, the bear one, was teary eyed and defeated and felt like they’re still not enough even in communities that claim to be welcoming. I’ve never wrote a review…. But my friend is hurting today and I’m hurting for them. Night turned from excitement to complete shatters. I’d like to mention my friend has also gained some weight from the time they’ve had their ID picture taken…. But their picture still looks like them…. I’ve worked door checking IDs and worked in a pawn shop where I also had to check IDs multiple times a day…. The whole situation and the way the guy handled it felt targety and discriminatory. I was co workers with this individual…. My prior sub-ordinate turned life long friend. We have tons of pictures throughout the years, at work, at bars… We came to this space to help our bear friend come out of their shell, left with them more in their shell than ever. Bartenders name is Aaron. Aaron- I hope soap always gets in your eyes every time you wash your face. May your tea and coffee always burn your tongue. And I hope when you sleep at night it always feels like the blankets are wet. We took our business to The Merc after and the bartender was blown away at our story. I share this story as a cautionary tale to new patrons- be prepared if you have gained weight Arron the bartender might ask you for your drivers license number -_-

This is a great gay bar. I come most Sundays because of their burgers. I have met a lot of friends there. Plus, the bartenders are always friendly and welcoming.

Just wanted to come on here and recognize our amazing bartender Aaron for being observant and aware of a potentially dangerous situation! This evening at about 0030 a car carrying 3 young patrons entered the parking lot. I noticed him come out from behind the bar and focus on the vehicle thru the security camera as they had difficulty parking and exhibited suspicious behavior before entering. He was diligent and checked each of their ID's before letting them enter the bar. Each of them proceeded straight to the restrooms. After, the male from the group attempted to purchase drinks for him and his group and was denied service. Rightfully so, seeing that all 3 of them were already highly intoxicated before arrival. The chaos that unfolded afterwards was completely uncalled for and potentially dangerous to myself and the other patrons at the bar. Each of the members of the young group proceeded to trash the bar knocking over and throwing whatever they could get their hands on. Other patrons of the bar closest to the suspects proceeded to force them out the door before further damage could be done. All 3 of them attempted to come back in a second time but the door had already been locked. After they left the parking lot the male of the group attempted a third time to kick the door and get back inside again. But was unsuccessful and eventually left. I say all that to give kudos to Aaron and staff for how they handled it this evening! And also to say that this 1 negative event has not changed my opinion of this place and will continue coming here for a stiff drink on a regular basis!

Walked in. Stood at the bar to order a drink. Was straight up ignored for 5 minutes by the bartender. Ended walking out as the bartender proceeds to serve others that came in after me.
