This place is awesome! It was our anniversary and they went out of their way to make it extra special for us. My hubby loved his ribeye, it had beautiful marbeling. It was fun to cook our own. We will definately be back on future trips. It has such a cool vibe. The atmosphere is intimate with the candles and booths, but fun with a large grill for people to gather and cook their food. As a Vegan, they do have a veggie dog and mushroom and offer foil and clean the grill hourly. The baked potatoes were huge! If you have not been, I believe it is a must try.

The Butterscotch Den is an intimate, moody, kinda hipster-ish small bar tucked away off broadway. Just driving by you could miss it but try and stop by for a beautiful bar with great vibes. The inside is perfectly decorated, the bar area is gorgeous, and the atmosphere of great for a more chill night out or date night!
Came here with a friend as we both hadn’t been here yet and we enjoyed our time. They have various drink options and food, and we could see tables for dinning and an area where it seemed like patrons were cooking their own food! Very cool and their website says it is a “grill your own steakhouse” so I’m interested in trying it next time.
The bar was packed on a Thursday night, we did wait a bit for one glass of wine while sitting at the bar but understandable considering how many people were there. Will definitely be back!

I used to refer all my friends to The Butterscotch Den and sing its praises, unfortunately no more. They are snobbish and the bartenders are completely rude. I was just at the bar at 9pm this past Friday evening. I walked in alone as I was waiting for others to join later. There were no seats at the bar so the hostess suggested a seat at the Pac-Man game. I happily agreed. After playing a few rounds, i ordered a martini with the bartender. As I waited, I did notice her pointing in my direction to another employee, next I knew the hostess was bringing me a glass of water stating the bartender would not serve me. I left immediately, embarrassed.I am just a mum who drove in from El Dorado hills. I was completely sober (ok, California sober) shocked and embarrassed. I've never been refused service. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out why i was denied service? Was it because I was alone? Should I have not spoken to the gentleman who was sitting next to me? Was he the bartender's boyfriend or something? I can guarantee that if I had been a single man, or if I'd come with some other women, I would've been served. Unfortunately they lost a patron last night.

This was very much a scene. Not bad if that's your thing and I would have enjoyed it but our server was subpar. I waited over 30 minutes for a beer. To their credit, the other server asked how we were doing and ended up comping the beer. And the food took a long time despite the fact that we still had to cook it.

I love this place! This was my fourth time there. It's so fun to come with friends and cook on the grill with each other. There are many options, vegetarian options as well. The steaks are great. The burgers look good. They're veggie sides are always in season. The drinks are phenomenal as they have a bar. A fun place to go. You definitely need a reservation. Great atmosphere and at times they have live music.

My first impression was that it was impressive, had a great ambience but I hope you don't plan on catching a buzz at a bar they cut me off a few beers and not to mention I ordered a burger cost me $13 was told to cook it myself not to mention the amount LGBTQ plus transgender people but luckily I got sat right up front by the singer with my lady and my friend and she was great Coco Lamarr made my night it sucks that the establishment she was singing in disregards the enjoyment of its customers I had to go to the bar to get my drinks my friend had to go to the bar to get his drinks I told the bartender that the server wasn't doing a very good job of keeping up on our table so the server told the bartender to cut us off not that we were intoxicated or anything not to mention we had a designated driver overall the ambiance and the singer was great but truly let down by the service the hosts and the structure of having to cook my own food

We just got drinks, and they were delicious! We loved the live jazz music, and I especially appreciate the art-deco decor to boot, as altogether it gives the impression of a speak-easy from 100 years ago. I can't wait to take other friends here!
