I reached out to the bakery at the last minute to place the order for my granddaughter 8 b-day party. On top of this I had a special request for the cake and cupcakes..
My granddaughter theme was TACO so everything was taco.. I request 60 taco cupcakes and 1 big taco cake for my baby.. I was so excited and very surprised to see the outcome. IT WAS PERFECT!! The cupcakes had little tacos on them and the cake was 1 BIG TACO, which my grandbaby ate every bit of.. The cupcakes were delicious and moist. The price was very reasonable for the order I made and the time crunch I needed them in.
All I can say is THANK YOU for making my granddaughter day very special.. You really came through and I truly appreciat you.. I HIGHLY recommend THE CAKE DEPOT..

Not sure why I received this reply after speaking with Kathy. I will post the emails she sent to me also. I've supported this business after my review on several occasions. Thought we moved past it. Good luck to you as well.

I Ordered a 70 bday cake for my husband celebration 3/15/25. One number Red Velvet & the other one Lemon flavor ( via email). The decoration had butterflies & stars
( feminine design) and both cakes were Red Velvet flavor. I was disappointed with the ENTIRE cake & upset that my husband cake desire wasn't fulfilled. I would never refer anyone to this bakery.
I would rate the service & accountability negative 0 if that was available.
As a business owner myself you should never blame the error on another person (Kathy) you should do the right thing & refund half of my $150. Even though I don't feel like I got an adequate 1/2 of service!

Ordered cupcakes for my husband's birthday. Process was easy, staff was helpful, cakes were delicious, and he was happy!! We'll order from here again. Thank you ?

The cake was beautiful and they showed up to set up the stands on time. However, the edges of the cake were a little hard, I’m not sure if it was made the same day. Plus we had the wrong frosting, we asked for cream cheese frosting with the red velvet cake and we got buttercream. She explained that the cream cheese couldn’t hold so it needed to be mixed with buttercream. That mix together over powered the cream cheese flavor we only tasted the buttercream. It would’ve been nice to have been aware of the changes ahead of time so we could’ve tried to come up with a solution together, because we were really looking forward to that deep red velvet cream cheese flavor type of cake and we didn’t get that satisfied taste.

I dealt with Kathy and every time we spoke via email or over the phone she was kind, professional and cooperative. She made a breath-taking custom cake of Thomas the Train and was very accommodating and flexible around the pick up time. I am very grateful to her for making my son's birthday dream come true. Worth every penny! Highly recommend.

Don’t ever waste your time or money here. I know from dealing with them for two years horrible customer service . The daughter over charges not organized. They also sale old cakes thats been refrigerated for weeks and will tell you after you have placed a order that they made your cake completely different and if she cant make it she is booked. There are way to many awesome Bakers in Sacramento. You will thank me later!

Made my son's 3 year birthday cake here last month. It tasted so good and they did a great job getting all the details on the cake, everybody loved the cake. The owner of the place, Kathy is also very customer friendly, kind and very professional. Usually I don't write reviews but decided to write one because she did everything to make sure I walked away a happy customer. I highly recommend this place

I was on a time crunch and found them on google, and gave them a chance. It was the BEST thing I could've done. The cake, cookies, brownies, and cupcakes turned out AMAZING. And they didn't just look good, they tasted amazing. The cake was so moist and perfect! I found my new cake shop! Thanks Ladies :)
