Biggest issue not allowing me to rate higher is that I made the reservation quite far in advance and was still given a table to celebrate my husbands birthday with friends that had a huge column beside it and was in a busy traffic area. When I mentioned that to the person who sat us he seemed to not care and didn't offer a different table. I wasn't happy about that.

Had the 3 course special. Attentive servers. Moved us to a private corner table. Food was excellent. Meat was so tender and flavorful. A Great place for a special memorablel evening.

Unfortunately, The Firehouse was a major disappointment—especially given its reputation, glowing reviews, and status as a Sacramento institution often described as one of the city's best steakhouses.

Great anniversary dinner with the wife. Amanda is a fantastic server and helped us decide what would be best for our special night. Definitely a more mature and classy/old-fashioned vibe inside being located in old sac. Would recommend the lobster mac add-on with a nice dry aged steak. We also loved the off-menu chilean sea bass.

Once again, Firehouse was simply wonderful. Food was terrific and Zack our wait professional was top notch. Three of us shared a Caesar salad and a beet salad for a delicious combination. Two of us had lamb chops perfectly cooked to medium. One had branzino that he loved. We paired dinner w/ an Archery Summit wine that was reasonably priced; it was special from the moment it was opened. We have never used Open Table points at a restaurant before. (we miss Kayak and use at hotels). It could not have been easier. It is basically a mastercard payment to the restaurant Our wait staff person was unflappable and processed the Open Table points along w/ gift cards. He made it easy without hesitation and without embarrassing us. We did of course tip based upon the original full amount. Firehouse knows how to do it. We've been going for more than 30 years and it never fails to impress us with excellent food, drink and service. Definitely earns their 5 star rating every day.

We went for Dine Downtown Week and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The beauty of the restaurant, the attention to detail of the service, and the food were all outstanding.

I come to this restaurant annually for dine downtown and it never dissapoints! The food, ambience & service are excellent! I've been to many restaurants from all over Nor cal & SoCal & The Firehouse restaurant is one of the top rated restaurants in my opinion! A must try if you're in the CA State Capital for fine dining!

The wine flight from Dine Downtown was great. The salad was delicious. This free little fingerling potato with a cucumber garlic sauce and apple wood bacon was amazing! Omg. The entree was a let down. The chicken was cooked perfect but had no seasoning..... I wish I brought some seasoning.... The chocolate cake was delicious. Our server Jeremy was great.

Thank you Firehouse for a Wonderful Sacramento Restaurant Week dinner. Food, service and ambiance so perfect. Special shout out to Dan Harvey, restaurant manager and sommelier who found a wonderful wine for us from their impressive collection.

We wandered in (under dressed) not knowing the area, and the staff were lovely and inviting!
The staff was extremely courteous with our dietary needs (celiac). We are always so thankful for this!!
Food was delicious! The restaurant holds some pretty awesome history and we are so glad we went in!

Very disappointing experience.
Started out good, but quickly went sour.
At least 3 tables directly around us were seated well after we arrived. They received their food and we were left waiting for at least half an hour more. We were told there were “delays in the kitchen” while clearly meals were coming out.
Once we got our food, it was not cooked to request. Got a ribeye steak medium. It came out RARE and so gummy and chewy. Gross.
If you pay $86+ for a single steak, you expect to get a nice steak, NOT what was served. We waited an hour for that? Unacceptable.
Requested a birthday cake and were completely ignored and just brought the check.
Bathrooms unkept and need a remodel looked like there were chipped paint and mold on the ceiling. When you come to a place like this and shell out this much cash for a dinner, you expect more.
Will not be returning and definitely not recommending.

Fantastic food & service. The rooms were decorated very nice, and the architecture of the old building was fantastic!
