The Nook is an absolute gem in East Sac. The wines are unusual and very well-curated - we've loved everything we've tried there so far. The servers are always friendly and knowledgeable. But the standout at this place is the FOOD!! We've tried almost everything on the menu, and every single dish is incredible. This place is turning out food that's as good (or better than) the best restaurants in Sac or even SF. I love that they offer half-glasses of wine (as well as tasting flights), and they also have a great beer selection. I can't recommend The Nook highly enough!
Wonderful neighborhood retreat for our “little bubble”. Great service, small menu but full of pleasant surprises. Outstanding and creative food! We had a nice time here and were able to relax and chat peacefully.
Great food, excellent wine, really good service.
Fun very eclectic place. Menu change since I was here last. So happy to see the carrots still on the menu!
We went around 4:00 when they opened on a Friday and had fantastic service. All three of us were incredibly pleased with our dishes. The service was fantastic, and it's nice they have a little outside area. Def recommend.
If you're unsure about the type of food (I'm less adventurous than my friends) check the menu a few days before as it does change regularly they say.
I stumbled across this charming place on my way home one evening and I LOVED it so much, I just have to share! Nestled in the midst of gorgeous East Sac, this place is far more than a 'wine bar'. The team is inviting, interactive and makes you feel incredibly welcome. The walls are adorned with this incredible art that evokes much conversation. The vibe is intimate and full of whimsy. Then you have the plants and all the books (LOVE)! Best part...the adventurous wine and wildly THOUGHTFUL food. I'm a huge fan of small plate concepts that allow me to try several menu items. Chef/Owner, Joe has done a brilliant job creating hyper-seasonal dishes that appeal to all eating styles. I have to admit - I peeked into his kitchen on my way down the hallway and this space is pristine! Said a quick hello to Joe and thanked him for creating this space that has easily become my new favorite!
Thank you kindly Joe! See you soon :)
This restaurant is an absolute treasure, the food is phenomenal and lovingly made, the wine selection is incredible, and the service is impeccable. I will absolutely be coming here in the future.
Some food just hits you right in the soul! Our experience here was absolutely wonderful, and the wine paired perfectly with everything we ordered. The standout for us was the pot pie—it instantly transported me back home. We have a deep love for French cuisine, and the rich, buttery, savory veggie filling truly hit the mark.
From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon!
Thank you for a fantastic meal and a memorable experience!
Oh my delicious!!!! Great service! We had a fabulous time for date night!
First time here and will definitely be back! They have a wide variety of wines and their food is off the hook. Get the cheese dip!

$22 wine flight of 3 half-glasses of Spanish reds, which run $7-9. Vermouth is all white. $14 strawberry vermouth cocktail (like a sweet spritz) wasn't my favorite. The carrot dish was great. Good service. Interesting decor. Stick to wine and you'll be happy.
This place was incredible! We went there for their first ever brunch, and WOW. Will be going here OFTEN. The owner and Chef, Joe, not only makes incredible food but was friendly and inviting. The atmosphere is impeccable as well. An absolute hidden gem and must go in Sacramento
Excellent atmosphere, inviting staff, and I think the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had in my entire life. Wherever you’re coming from, make the journey, you won’t be disappointed!
The only highlight was the carrots three ways. Beyond that, the bone marrow lacked any depth of flavor, tasting flat and uninspired. The baked cheese was an unappetizing, gooey mess, more reminiscent of a kitchen mishap than a dish. As for the tin fish, it was exactly that—plain canned fish paired with a baguette that seemed no fresher than something off a grocery store shelf. Disappointing across the board.

Met a friend for a quick bite and a wine flight! Not sure what took me so long to check out this very accessible, charming space in East Sac. The white wine flight was delicious, and I have a new appreciation for carrots! Ha! Be sure to check out the golden beets, too!
