The only highlight was the carrots three ways. Beyond that, the bone marrow lacked any depth of flavor, tasting flat and uninspired. The baked cheese was an unappetizing, gooey mess, more reminiscent of a kitchen mishap than a dish. As for the tin fish, it was exactly that—plain canned fish paired with a baguette that seemed no fresher than something off a grocery store shelf. Disappointing across the board.

Met a friend for a quick bite and a wine flight! Not sure what took me so long to check out this very accessible, charming space in East Sac. The white wine flight was delicious, and I have a new appreciation for carrots! Ha! Be sure to check out the golden beets, too!

My daughter and her partner were in Sacramento visiting me and we decided to have dinner at The Nook. We shared several of the Bites which are small plates/appetizers. Joe, the owner, told us the menu changes frequently but some items make repeat appearances. We had the smashed cucumbers, carrots three ways, golden beets, assorted pickles, cast iron baked cheese and shawarma meatballs. Everything thing was amazing!! I thought I didn’t like beets, spicy foods or goat cheese but Joe changed my mind about all of these. I can’t say any one dish was my favorite but I can say that I now understand why the carrots three ways are often on the menu. I will certainly visit The Nook again; hopefully very soon. Thank you Joe for a wonderful evening!

Terrific seasonal menu. Interesting small dishes and European wines. Love the patio in the evening.

Really enjoyed this neighborhood place! The vibe is wonderful and intimate, yet friendly. The menu is nice tapas- we enjoyed English pea hummus and the shrimp. The cocktails were great! We had a fabulous time! Great place to stop and enjoy the neighborhood vibe!

The beets and carrots were so good! The scallops were pretty good. I wish I took more photos of what we ate and drank. I want to try more things on the menu. I would recommend.

Website & internet said it was open (5 PM on a Friday). Wanted to try and support a local business. It was closed. Be clear about your hours of operation, Nook.

The food in this restaurant is exquisitely delicious. I tried the shrimp prawns and they were super delicious, along with other appetizers, and the wine they offer is literally 100% excellent. I recommend it, I would return a thousand times more….

Lovely wine bar with small bites. I have gone three times - and very happy each time. Great to bring your doggo and sit outside, or get some books next door at the bookstore and read indoors while you enjoy a glass of wine. Highly recommend! Love this lovely neighborhood spot.

Went here on a date with my husband and everything was awesome. The staff is very friendly, food was delicious and the wine was perfect! Would definitely recommend. We love us some red wine and this place hit the spot! We’ll be back!

Went for breakfast and this is a wine bar, but everything was delicious (BLTA, biscuts and gravy, fruit parfait, hashbrowns, and a mocha). Staff was friendly and attentive.

We checked this place out as a get together for a small group of friends with mixed dietary needs. They had multiple small plates that were vegetarian friendly. We ordered all of them and shared them as a table.Everything was so delicious (special shout out to the mushrooms and the hush puppies), the atmosphere was cozy, clean and bright. The art was vivid and interesting to look at - nothing boring hanging here at all.The server was friendly and attentive. We ordered a bottle of “something sparkly and dry” and absolutely loved what they brought us.Overall I have not one complaint. Check it out - it’s fantastic and I’ll be back.Sadly I didn’t take photos ? but the presentation was beautifully executed.

Vegetarian options: There were at least five small plate options for vegetarians. Definitely ideal to share with the table and order a few!
