LAST NIGHT(DEC 16,2022)ME&MY WIFE ORDERED DINNER(SECOND TIME)ON LINE ONCE WE ARRIVED (OLD SAC)TEXT MESSAGE STATED 5:13PM SHE THEN WENT TO PICK UP ORDER ONLY TO FIND OUT THIS BUSINESS IS CLOSED(LOCKED DOOR)AFTER CALLING(THIRD PARTY APP TOTE)ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT BUSINESS IS STILL OPEN TAKING ORDERS ($60 FOR FOOD)..SCAMMMM,AS I STATED THIS IS OUR SECOND TIME FIRST WAS GREAT, SOMEBODY IS WORKING (POCKETS)BEWARE!

The food was soooo good! I had the ribs, greens, red beans and rice, and the cornbread. Amazing! Next time I'm in Sacramento I will be going there.

Enjoyed live music. Please don't allow reservations. First come. Need more employees. One beautiful young lady was so working hard to take care of all that attended

Food was good but unfortunately many items on the menu not available. We arrived at 500 pm no potato salad no turkey wings no cornbread dressing. Service was lacking nice people but not very attentive. Overall restaurant a little dirty but nice decor. IMO has a lot of potential. We will try again as we do love Soul food. Husband loved short ribs and I loved fried catfish.

Had a lovely meal here. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner who personally came over to talk to us. Live music playing on the night we went. Great atmosphere

I will never order food from this place again. There has never been a time that I have ordered food from them where something wasn't missing from the order. The sides are alway messed up and its like they throw in whatever they feel like and rarely do they add the cornbread. Whats sad is that the food really is good but the orders are always messed. Im good, ill just find another place.

As much as I wanted this restaurant to be good, because its hard to find soul food in Sacramento. The food had potential however it was VERY salty, and a lil bland, so salty that I couldn't enjoy it. I ordered the Snapper, with black eye peas, yams, and green beans. My kids had the ribs and chicken(was slightly under cooked). Presentation was good, just PLEASE cut back on the salt.

The experience here was awful, we went there around 5:30PM my sister had already warned us about the establishment running out of items on the menu, we decided to give them a try maybe it was just a busy night. When we got there and started to order they were out of Ribs, fries, dressing and Straws I couldn’t believe being a business you could be out of so many items straws is a first for me and fries. The waitress was not friendly at all when we got our food the greens where Glory can greens the macaroni and cheese was hard the bottle of hot sauce was not enough for one piece of chicken and when we asked for another bottle she couldn’t find one we had to call the manager over he was not caring about the items they were out of his response was we are just out of it. No sweet tea oh my I’m visiting from out of town and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We were charged for Greenbeans which my husband asked for three times and never received the waitress got upset when we asked her to take it off the bill. People where leaving we should have followed.

I should have listened to my sister in law !!!! She told me that the service was slow and that they run out of food after five o'clock. OMG!!! She was right. I decided to give them a try after looking at the misleading food options on the menu. I should have known after arriving and going to the restroom that had no paper towels with a wet floor. Needless to say after ordering for a party of four. I was told after ordering ribs that they were out lol. So I decided to order the turkey dinner and was told that they were out of dressing. My son had ordered chicken with fries and was told that they were out of fries. I had asked the waitress whom was nonchalant for a bottle of hot sauce. I was then told by her and the manager that they were out of hot sauce and that I would have to share it with another table smh!!! To top it off I asked for another drink and was told that they were out of straws lol. This place was the worst place I could have went to visit in Sacramento CA. I was visiting from Detroit and had never seen such an establishment like this one to tell all when I go back home

Excellent food and friendly people!

The staff was incredibly friendly and the owner was a great host. The vibe fit perfectly with the themed food of Soul with an outside courtyard next to a wine bar. The food far exceeded my expectations, the servings were generous, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender and juicy, the snapper fish was on point and fresh, and the smothered pork was my favorite and couldn't stop eating it after I was full since I was also picking at everyone else's plate (oink!). We are definitely coming back!

There wasn't very many people that I saw the unpleasant waitress said she was going to try cause she was all by herself. If she was so busy then why did she bring us water and utensils and a menu, but never came back to take our order after a 45 minute wait. I called the restaurant and the unprofessional waitress came out yelling at me. We got up and left. Bad reviews don't help the business. She needs to brush up on her customer service skills cause she has none. Very disappointing..

Don't go to this place, the ("Waitress") they only have ("1") is Very rude!!! And the only One waitress and one person cooking you cannot get any food at all , we barely got water and silverware. The waitress came out to us 3 times and said she would be right back to take our order. Finally we had to call her on the phone and ask her after being there ("45 minutes") and still not placing an order!!! she comes out arguing with us about she said she'd be right back. At that point we got up and left... Don't go there the place is a joke it's a hole in the wall and nothing else.

I got take out, so I can not really comment on the ambience, however the food is well seasoned. The proportion size of the meat is larger than the sides, which is different but good (I'm not complaining). The reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the use of Styrofoam take out containers and the location of the restaurant is not wheelchair-accessible.

'22/1 1st time customer/review:It was a slow Tuesday after a holiday weekend. When seated by waitress, we were not informed that they were out of a handful of menu items. We found out when we went to place our order. They were out of too many items, so we did not stay for dining.Hoping for better luck when try again in future. The menu (see posted pic) has promise--turkey, cornmeal catfish, gumbo, ribs (all out today's visit).Note for mobility impaired: This unique, sit-down restaurant is located below street-level requiring decent via stairs.
