This is a great greasy spoon with American breakfast and lunch food. The prices are in line with the food the serve. They have a pretty extensive menu of breakfast food to choose from. The staff was overly welcoming for me to visit them. They were helpful with choosing the right item to order. The location was quite clean and well maintained. I would recommend you give this restaurant a visit.

Guys! This place is awesome! We traveled from SoCal for the aftershock fest and Mel’s just happened to be in the same lot as our hotel. We ate there every morning for the whole week we were there. Our servers Karla and Robin were so sweet and remembered us every time we came in. Idk how but I’m pretty sure we are regulars now even tho we won’t be back till next years festival. The food was really good and the service was top tier.

This was hard to score morning service was great this weekend...came in Saturday night about 30 minutes til closing just to get a drink...first we were told they do not have hot chocolate then we said we'd have coffee and were told credit card machine was down could only pay with cash...just seemed like excuses to no serve us (it was empty)...however I want to say Thank u Robin this morning for great service and delicious hot chocolate!

This diner is such a gem! The food was authentic, delicious, and served hot and fresh—just the way it should be. Cozy atmosphere with that classic diner charm you don’t find anymore. My breakfast was absolutely perfect: fluffy eggs, golden French toast, crispy potatoes, and a hot cup of coffee that kept coming.
What really made the experience even better was Jennifer, she was such a doll! Friendly, attentive, and genuinely sweet. She made me feel right at home and made the visit extra special.
Highly recommend if you want great food, great service, and that nostalgic diner feel. Presentation was so cute. Second location I’ve tried and it’s still hits the spot! La la loved it 🥞☕❤️

Only gave three stars because all of the other original Mells around Sacramento have weekly specials. Last week I paid $13 for the wolfman Jack at a different location. This week it was $18.99 at a different location. The kicker is they're only like 2 and 1/2 mi apart. Other than having to pay a little bit more, the food was good. Service was good, establishment was clean.

Really great restaurant; I mostly love it because of the atmosphere, it’s so retro. The food was good, and so was the service. I love how there are mini jukeboxes on the tables; there is also a huge, really cool jukebox when you first walk in(I want that jukebox 😐) Overall, it’s a fun restaurant.
