It's a typical Mel's Diner. Good food. Fun atmosphere (that could be loud if crowded, but that's to be expected at a diner.). The one thing that can change is the service. It was exceptional. Got the order right. Attentive but didn't bother us. Engaged in a bit of conversation since it wasn't busy. Looked like we were there when they were having a deal for over 65 - there were regulars that the staff knew by name.

Food was not the best this time. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and the cheese was not melted and the toast was hardly toasted. ? The waitress was fine and welcoming and attentive ...another time.

Right as we walk in the waitress says she is by herself and it will be 20 minutes before she can get to us and asks if that is ok. Feels like we are inconveniencing her to eat here. Dont mind the wait, but find it strange that she is actively trying to turn business away.
