Expensive but awesome cocktails. Recommend sitting at the bar if possible for the mixologists show!

The Roost in Sacramento was absolutely worth the visit. Parking was definitely a challenge, but the moment we walked in, we knew it was worth the effort. As whiskey lovers, we were super impressed with their selection, and their Roost Old Fashioned was perfection—smooth, balanced, and crafted with intention. The food was surprisingly amazing too, way better than we expected from a whiskey-focused spot. Add in the great vibes and cozy atmosphere, and it made for a perfect night out. Totally worth the hunt for parking!

Cool little hidden speak easy type bar. Excellent craft cocktails and a phenomenal staff! Make a reservation for a smooth entry. Great adult date night vibe, no kids or crying babies! Drinks are spot on and the mixologists put on a great show behind the bar!🥃

Not even sure where to start…. Initially being greeted, everything seemed to fine. Initially, sitting down while trying to figure out the menu, the first waiter seemed to be a little demeaning, but in a polite way, if that makes sense. At first I didn’t think much of it. (Really wish I got the name of the gentleman that sat us and help us later) he was extremely rude and the meaning. How’s my girlfriend is asking questions about the menu he kept mocking her accent And acting dumb as if he didn’t understand. This went on for everything she asked To the point where she felt completely humiliated! White dude with longer blondish hair. We had 1 drink and just left after being treated very Poorly by the staff.
I will definitely be going back in to file a formal complaint.

This is such a cool place. You walk through a bookcase door into a brick walled bar. Fantastic

Make sure you reserve ahead of time!
The drinks and cocktails are absolutely phenomenal, crafted with care and creativity.
It’s a small place, so the staff can be a bit pushy about ordering more drinks, which can be a little annoying, but it makes sense given they need to keep business moving.
Be prepared to pay more than usual, but it’s worth every penny for the quality and experience.
Conversation isn’t the easiest here because of the size and lively atmosphere.
Food options are limited.

I don’t usually gatekeep… but I have a soft spot for speakeasies, and this one is worth sharing. Reservations are definitely recommended. It’s hidden behind Bawk restaurant, tucked between the kitchen, bathrooms, and a storage closet. To get in, squeeze the rooster’s mouth a few times and the storage shelf will swing open.
Inside, you’ll find craft cocktails galore, a tempting tapas menu, and bites like oysters, chicken wings, deviled eggs, fried catfish, and more. Sadly, the charbroiled oysters were out of all their toppings during our visit, but the raw oysters were fresh and sweet. The house Bawk Hot Sauce was a total game-changer—it elevated almost every dish we tried.
The catfish was cooked perfectly light, crispy, and flavorful (though I wouldn’t mind a touch more seasoning). With the hot sauce, it was spot on. My only wish? That they sold wine by the glass instead of only by the bottle.
Atmosphere-wise, it’s a fun yet elegant speakeasy with food that matches the vibe. My Porn Star Martini was perfect—not too sweet, incredibly smooth. While waiting for our reservation, we popped into The Snug across the street, which also had fantastic drinks.
Overall: a hidden gem worth the hunt.

Overall a great experience to try a speakeasy in Sacramento. Book ahead of time. The drinks were made well and the snack we had was delicious. If you're really hungry, try eating first at Bawk then head over to the speak easy.

Great cocktails and an expansive offering of spirits. The prices have gotten out of hand though.
I've been coming here for about 3 years now, and the prices were always a little high, but fair. Recently, the price of everything went up drastically, and not just a few percent for inflation. Spritis that used to be $12 are now $22, one was $16 and now it's $35, and cocktails increased by 20-40%.

Cool speakeasy with an extensive and interesting menu. The Alibi was great, but the other drinks, while they did not suit my palate, were fun and creative. I hope to try more of the menu in the future.
