This place is soooo dope!!! We came in on a Saturday night and even though it was crazy busy, were immediately greeted and seated in a cozy booth. DJ was in the zone and had everyone dancing in the aisle and singing along to hip-hop classic bangers. Definitely a great and positive vibe. We were there for food though.
Had a tough time deciding what to order because everything looked tempting, but went with the CARRERA QUESADILLA and CHIMICHURRI STEAK SANDWICH for food and LYCHEE MARTINI for a cocktail or two. Portions were generous, gorgeously plated and not at all what you’d expect from late-night bar food. Steak was tender, cooked a perfect med-rare and all ingredients fresh and beyond delicious!!
Felt our business there extremely appreciated when Tony introduced himself to us as the manager/owner and told us about his vision to make THE SHOP even better. Asked for our feedback. These kind of interactions build regulars. We literally can’t wait to visit again.

Got the bbq chicken sandwich with fries togo. The sandwich was on two soggy pieces of white bread, the fries were very bland and I was charged $1.19 for 1 side of ranch despite being told by the woman who took my order that it was .50 cent a side.

This is a golden gem in Midtown and the best for American staples like wings, tenders, burgers, and oh my, that winter special tomato soup with grilled cheese is like nothing I've ever had. The best ever 🙌🏼 They make a lot of sauces in house and the hot wing sauce and ranch are to die for. The Shop also has alternative drinks choices (non-alcoholic) to help chill the mood. The owners, Tony and Ben, are so supportive of the Midtown area and value their customers. I will continue to support local at The Shop Midtown.
The Shop Midtown is a great little bar in East Sacramento on J Street with a relaxed lounge vibe and plenty of TVs. They have a full bar and a solid menu with lots of food options, making it easy to grab dinner or drinks with friends. We stopped in before walking through the Fab Forties to see the lights, and the location made it super convenient because it’s pretty close by car. This is a great spot for after work drinks, meeting friends, or an easy dinner close to everything.
