I LOVE this café! The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is wonderful (100% recommend the tokidoki mozza with bacon). I have a new favorite latte (shoutout to the Alchemist Amaretto) and I look forward to coming back.

Parking: There really aren't any street parking options dieing the day since this on an off-street, but there is a paid parking garage that you can walk from. It's relatively affordable on the weekend, but you *will* be charged the day fare if you go a single minute over 2 hours.

Super nice folks working there. Enjoyed the conversation. Good food (had breakfast). A highlight is the atmosphere and space itself. I was in town and needed a place to catch up on emails and it was an awesome place to do that (or grab coffee with friends or coworkers). A very relaxing, cool and eclectic place. Will go again the next time in town.

Great nerd cafe right in the center of downtown Sacramento!
Had myself a decently expensive cafe au lait, but it was exactly what I needed after a long morning of driving. Within There and Back Cafe and Games there is an assortment of card/board games, Magic the Gathering decks, and nerdy merchandise for purchase assorted throughout the cafe. The staff was very friendly and helpful with getting me setup with the Wifi after it went down for a short spell. Definitely a great place for a first date or a hangout session with friends or coworkers.

Knew someone working there for a few months. Their checks constantly bounced along with others. Beware they may be untrained as I tried to purchase a deck of cards and they couldn't do so as no staff was trained to. Hoping this place shuts down for good if it hasn't already. Mistreatment of employees is not okay. Other than that, the vibe is pretty good and the pastries were above passable.

I stop by here on my way to work some days. The staff is always kind and helpful. I am not into gaming, but they have an excellent event calendar and following for many of their programs. They have a large space for people to play games as well.

this place is so cool! everyone that worked there was super nice and friendly :) the coffee was really good especially the morning bun pastry. there’s so much detail put into this place it’s so cool!

I was a regular patron since their opening a couple years ago, but I stopped going when I found a hair in my coffee. Several baristas have left over the last couple months, and service has gone downhill.
