Some of the best food we’ve had on our road trip and one of the most charming places we’ve been to. A lovely place to spend a warm afternoon. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, but the food was so good that we housed it all anyway. Went for lunch but tempted to go back again for dinner.

The location is amazing! The cafe is adjacent to the tower theater, it has a beautiful, lush green walkway and outdoor dining area, and parking was easy in the back. The inside has beautiful, tropical decor and plants to look at in every nook and cranny. Service was also quick and friendly. However, the food is mixed review worthy. My husband loved his thai steak and eggs and commented on the flavor of the glaze and tenderness of the meat. My egg tower was another story. It arrived barely warm, giving the impression it had to sit while they finished my husband's steak. The hollandaise was heavy but even that could not cover the saltiness of the ham. I drink salt-based electrolytes, so I am used to salt, but the ham left me feeling like I have a salt burn on my tongue, if that makes sense... The cornbread muffin was okay, but it probably would have been amazing had it actually been served to me hot. Like, when I cut into cornbread, I want to be greeted by steaming, tender, cornbread goodness. Instead, it was a barely warm corn puck topped with over-salted ham in a pool of room temp hollandaise. This is super disappointing bc my foodie self really wanted to love this place. So check it out, but skip the egg tower.

I'm from out of town and probably from a lower tax bracket than the people who go here. Based on when I went I would say that it is fairly popular so... don't take my review as a diss. It's just not for me.
Too crowded and pretentious. The food was not bad albeit a bit expensive. This is the kind of place that you rarely take a brunch to when celebrating your grandmother's birthday or something... They don't like doing special orders so if you're a picky eater you should probably find somewhere else. They also like to nickel and dime you if you try to change anything. I got the French toast combination thing. One thing I can at least say is that even though the manager was nice enough to approve substituting the eggs for fruit on the time that I went- don't go in expecting the same treatment. The staff were nice enough.
They showed me a fair level of patience and courtesy given the fact that it was busy AF.

I prefer the Waffleria in my hometown better. They are still expensive and busy AF but... substitutions are less of an issue, way chiller vibe, and a better value. Also the fact that- "expensive" for New Mexico is fairly cheap by California standards.

Mediocre. The wait and prices drastically out weigh the food. Burnt, bland, conflicting spice mixtures.

Eclectic menu, French Toast is a bit different as it’s baguette soaked overnight! Highly recommended!
The patio is unique and one of the best in the city! Shard by ancient trees.
It is the building where Russ Solomon started Tower Records!! Classic Sacramento Ca spot . Busy but try to get there at least once. Excellent desserts as well. On Broadway and Land Park Drive .

I hardly ever leave reviews. This is the best food I’ve ever had in 42 years of being alive on the planet. And the decor and service matches! I’m blown away, for real!

Absolutely in love with Tower Cafe! This is our go-to spot for breakfast and brunch in Sacramento for decades. The menu is full of delightful surprises, and every dish I've tried has been absolutely delicious. The Oaxacan Eggs Mole is a standout for me. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. And let's not forget the charming world decor that adds to the overall ambiance. If you're looking for a truly memorable dining experience, it is a must-visit!"

I had the French toast at first I found it odd but now weeks later I find myself trying to find a recipe to match it since I'm so far away.

Food was fantastic! Dining inside was very loud with lots of people talking and dishes clanging. If you want to be able to talk, recommend sitting outside. Not a kid-friendly place but a super cool environment! Will definitely go again!
