It's cute and John is very cool. They have a small selection of very drinkable wines at good rates.

Stopped by The Wine Window a few weeks ago at 1111 L St, Sacramento, CA, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. I’m late on writing this review, but the memory stuck with me—which says a lot.

The concept is European-inspired and delightfully simple: you ring the bell (once for white, twice for red, and so on), and you’re served through a walk-up window. It’s fun, unique, and feels like a small escape in the heart of the city.

I got a chance to meet John, the owner, who shared how this concept came to life. He used to own a full wine room nearby, but the pandemic forced him to rethink everything. What he’s created now is intimate, inviting, and in many ways, even better than the original space. It’s proof that experience isn’t about size—it’s about vibe.

There’s a cozy patio out front where you can sip your wine and enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown. And yes, there’s even a public restroom, which is a thoughtful bonus for a spot like this.

Affordable, original, and incredibly chill—The Wine Window is a must-visit. Say hello to John if you stop by!

Went out of my way to leave work early to come and visit, only to not be allowed due to a private event. It takes minutes to update either Google or social media accounts so customers know the availability of the business.

This place is awesome! It is a walk-up wine bar that serves wine (both by glass & bottle) as well as beer and sparkling water, along with an array of snacks, such as flatbread pizzas, charcuterie plates, and paninis. The ā€œshowstopperā€ of this business is the setting on the patio of the historic Senator Building, built in 1924 in the Italian Renaissance style and included on the National Register of Historic Places. The Corinthian columns along the palazzo are to die for! It’s a wonderful place for a post-work mixer or happy hour. Highly recommended!
