Update as of 2/7/22: they are very shortstaffed (probably due to COVID) and are not serving handmade noodles. However, they are open for dine in! They were take out only for the longest time when the pandemic first hit.I ordered the Xiao long bao, beef noodle soup, and braised pork over rice. THE BRAISED PORK OVER RICE IS SO DELICIOUS. I got 2 little bok choy halves on the dish as well as a boiled brown egg. The flavor was just amazing and I wolfed it down. The beef noodle soup was also pretty good, but not the best that I've had. There is a very mild kick to it but it is not spicy (I can't handle spice and I was able to eat it no problem.) I do think the soup lacked some extra spice? The Xiao long bao was not very good in my opinion. The soup itself inside the dumplings was a little bland and I think the dumplings lacked onions or chives or something to add to the flavor. The vinegar was also very mild with no ginger added.I was seated immediately and service was very fast. The toilets are not open to public FYI. The indoor decorations are very nonassuming and modest. Prices are a little high for what is actually on the dish, but to be honest there are not that many Taiwanese places around here and they might have needed to raise their prices to stay open. Support small businesses everyone! Yang's has been around for a while and it would be sad to see them go.4 stars for braised pork and beef noodle soup and excellent, rapid service.
Seems like they switched owners 6mo ago (read recent reviews) and kept the name because it had 4+ stars. Restaurant is now a shadow of its past and the chef tried to keep the original menu items but they dont do handcut noodles or the beef roll anymore. If you view the menu its just another generic chinese restaurant using someone elses name. Menu is different and no longer has the pictures which confirms it. If you want taiwanese, go somewhere else
I think their food is delicious. Best fried rice and rice noodles in town
The wontons in chili oil were good - generously filled. Not as spicy as anticipated, but good. Would eat again.Dan dan noodles, though, were so awful we didn't eat more than a few bites. I was warned on the phone that they aren't making the noodles in house anymore, but what I got was like overcooked angel hair, in a super greasy sauce overseasoned with sichuan peppercorn - it tasted soapy. The cucumber side dish was a super-sweet pickle, cut fancily.
I got two orders of Shanghai soup dumplings and I got the vegetable dumplings the Shanghai soup dumplings were delicious but the vegetable dumplings came open and busted it was good but when I got home I wasn't pleased to see that they looks like they exploded
I used to LOVE this place but now it is terrible. Instead of the delicious house-made noodles that we used to get, we got what seemed like spaghetti noodles for the beef noodle soup. Not to mention that the broth hardly had any beef (or much of anything) in it aside from some pieces of beef fat. The chicken chow mein, which usually is my favorite chow mein, was super greasy and again had those spaghetti-like noodles. And the pork/chive dumplings tasted like the smell of ammonia. I felt like I inhaled straight up chemicals when I took a bite out of one. This made my sister throw up and now my stomach is getting upset. It’s sad to see the quality decline like it has...
The salt and pepper fish was pretty good. I got shrimp fried rice, and the shrimp was not fresh. I also got noodles. Even though they were a bit thick, they were delicious.
I’ve been to this restaurant couple of times and I had pretty good experience with them. Food was tasty and service was good too. However, I ordered to go this time, the food is definitely taste WAY DIFFERENT than what I had before, especially this marinated potato dish. The first time I had it it tasted crunchy and yummy but this time, totally opposite. It tasted soggy and I felt like they marinated for couple of days. Very disappointed!!
We order the beef noodle, sweet and sour noodle, and marinated potato. It was a total disappointment. Pre covid the beef noodle was BOMB. now its a sorry version of its past. The beef was mainly fat hardly any meat. The sweet and sour noodle, once again barely any meat in there. The marinated potato was soggy like its been there for weeks! The potato is suppose to be crunchy! I hope this is temporary because I enjoyed their food a lot in the past.
Food was plain. I had noodles with meat sauce and korean style soup. Noodles were nice and chewy but overall just plain and wasn't satisfying.

Amazing dumplings and pretty good beef noodle soup. The place is really well run and the staff are very friendly. The decor is old but the food is fantastic. It was ready really quickly. Great food for winter time especially the soups.
I love this place. The scallion pancake is yum and the dipping sauce is spicy and my favorite. The beef noodle soup is simple but perfect with great flavor.
Love this spot. As their name suggests, noodle dishes at Yang's are fantastic. If you like chow mein, their chow mein is top notch. The noodle dishes at Yang's feature their homemade knife-cut/knife-sliced noodles/刀削麵, which have great texture and bite (levels above your run of the mill dried Chinese noodles!). I don't think anyone else does this in Sac.
Grear staff. Great food. Clean and comfortable atmosphere.
Walked in to order two appetizers and two entrees and it was somehow $55. Was told it would take 15 minutes... in actuality we waited over an hour to get the order. The green onion pancake didn't have any green onion, just plain pancake. To top things off there were several hairs in one of the dishes.
